Fourth of July in Cousins is all about traditions. Susannah decorates the whole house, the dads come up for the weekend, the boys steam clams and shoot fireworks.

Everyone was in the kitchen preparing for the busy day ahead of them, Elizabeth was sitting next to Jeremiah having to slap his hands away when he would try to grab one of the cookies she was decorating.

"Jeremiah, I swear," She scolded him slapping his hand once more.

"It's just, you've got so many," Jeremiah smiled innocently.

"And you can have one later." Elizabeth said making Jeremiah pout.

"I'm gonna go wash the clams," Conrad announced walking into the kitchen with a bucket.

"Did you get the lighter fluid?" Jeremiah questioned turning to him.

"Yeah, it's already on the beach," Conrad nodded, kissing Elizabeth on the head and stealing a cookie running out the door.

"Conrad!" Elizabeth shouted watching him run out the door.

"So he gets one and I don't?" Jeremiah asked smiling.

"I will slap you."

"Ok," Jeremiah said turning away from her.

"Are we done with the portrait yet?" Steven groaned pulling their attention to him.

"Yeah, for today," Susannah rolled her eyes as she entered the kitchen. "But you do look good in a dress shirt, Steven." She smiled at him before looking at Belly who had just taken a seat next to Jeremiah at the table. "Uh, which makes me think if Belly doesn't hurry up and ask Cam to the ball, you should take her."

"Ew, no way," Steven shook his head while fake gagging. "I'm already going with Shayla."

"To the debutante ball?" Laurel questioned looking up from her computer. This was the first she had heard about it. "As an escort?"

"Wrap your head around it, Mom, all right?" Steven replied. "Shayla's coming today with Nicole and Gigi, so you'll meet her."

"That's wonderful," Susannah gushed. "Oh, and Belly don't forget Ms.Covington's first dance rehearsal is tomorrow, so, uh, tick-tick."
