Chapter 14

Niall-

Personally, after that experience last night, I'm absolutely terrified.

What happens if he finds us?

What happens if we don't get the security system up in time?

What happens if I can't protect her?

What happens...if I lose her?

I wake up to my angel sleeping right next to me, I smile at the thought of her body sinking the bed down beside me.

That thought was quickly interrupted by the hellish sound of my alarm clock.

I slammed my hand on it and groaned.

I lightly tapped her on her shoulder and whispered, "Maddie, love. It's time to get up." She shifted around and pulled the duvet over her head.

I jumped out of bed and sang, "If you don't get up, I'm going to eat your breakfast!"

She groaned and muttered, "You wouldn't dare.''

"But, yes, yes I would." I smirked.

"Fine! I'm up!" She stormed into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.

Someone's not a morning person...

I walked downstairs and saw Liam, Harry, Lauren and Jocelyn with mugs of tea in hand and Louis, Adriana, Zayn, and Kerry sprawled out on the couch and floors.

"Morning." They each greeted me and Harry handed me a mug of tea as I sat down.

"So about last night..." I started up the conversation.

"Paul's coming at around three today with the system and we have a meeting with management at five. And by we, I meant ALL of us." Liam stated.

"Okay." We all responded back as Maddie hopped down the stairs with a massive grin on her face.

"Hey guys!" She cheered.

"Hi!"

"Morning."

"Hey."

A chorus of greetings were said and heard as she plopped right next to me.

"So, what are we doing today?" Maddie asked.

"As I told the others, Paul is coming over at three and installing the security system and then at five, we all have a meeting with management." Liam huffed and went back to sipping his tea.

"Darn, I wanted to have a lazy day." Maddie sighed and grabbed a water bottle from the refrigerator.

"We could do that after the meeting." Zayn suggested.

Wow, Zayn actually talked before noon.

"Yeah, we're not getting home too late, so we could watch a couple movies." Adriana added.

"Okay then, so it's settled. After the meeting, we'll have a movie marathon!" Liam perked up and smiled.

"Yay!" Maddie ran up to Liam and gave him a hug and sat beside me. I spotted the clock and noticed it was 12 and our flat was a wreck.

"Um, lads, shouldn't we clean up the flat?" Maddie asked.

"Yeah, I was thinking the same exact thing, but it needs to be cleaned." I said.

"Yes, but if we were to, we would have to start right now." Louis pointed out.

"So, why don't we?" Jocelyn smiled as she got up from the couch and stretched.
