Chapter 16

Maddie-

I woke up to be wrapped around in a soft blanket.

I stretched and got out of the bed. Hopping out of bed, I headed downstairs.

I heard crying.

Why are people crying?

I walked down the stairs to see Niall and Kerry bawling their eyes out.

I wanted to laugh, but it didn't look the appropriate time.

I saw Niall look up at me and stop crying. "Tell me I'm not hallucinating."

"Why?" I was puzzled.

What's going on?

Niall stood up and wrapped his arms around me. "Austin found you."

"How?!" I cried.

"He climbed into the window and triggered the alarm. Luckily, the alarm worked and called the police immediately. He drugged you and he hit and cut you. Louis heard you scream and we all ran upstairs to find Austin sliding a knife from out of his pocket. Luckily, the police got him and he's now in jail for the rest of his life. You've also been asleep for the past year and me and everyone else thought that you were-" Kerry stuttered, but began to cry.

"Dead." I went up to them and hugged them. I heard a bunch of footsteps enter the room and suddenly stop then get faster and louder.

"Oh my god." A bunch of shrill voices called out to me. I felt arms wrap around my torso and I yelped out in pain. They all stepped back and asked if I was okay and that they were sorry.

"Maddie, you're okay! We all missed you and sat around the house like fat lazy bums!'' Jocelyn cried. We all laughed, but Louis and Zayn said that that was actually true.

"Anyway, me and the lads have planned something for you girls while we were here, stuck inside the whole year!" Liam cheered.

"Okay?" Kerry said.

"We picked out dresses for you girls, so check the closets. In a hour, Paul will be here to pick you all up and drop you off at the destination." Zayn explained.

"What about you guys? You're still in your pajamas?" Adriana placed a hand on her hip and laughed.

The boys laughed along and headed outside.

''Not for long." Louis kissed her temple and said,"See you girls soon!" and walked outside.

We all raced upstairs and I quickly jumped into the shower to wash my hair.

In five minutes, I had clean hair wrapped in a towel. I opened the closet to find a stunning strapless teal dress with rhinestones on the top. Also, a box underneath it had my name on it. I slowly picked the box up and opened it to find beautiful silver pumps. I put on my dress and heels, applied some natural makeup, let down my semi-wet hair and brushed through it, and went downstairs to find my stunning friends waiting down there for me.

Adriana had a dark blue spaghetti strapped dress on with black pumps with her hair down in loose ringlets.

Lauren had a pastel blue strapless dress on with black kitten heels with her hair in a flat ironed ponytail.

Kerry had on a black strapless dress with black studded pumps with her hair straight.

Jocelyn had a dark purple one shouldered dress with silver kitten heels and her hair down naturally.

I heard a car pull up and noticed it was Paul. We all walked outside and piled into the car one by one. Paul turned on the radio and 'Mirrors' by Justin Timberlake just started to play. We all just listened to Mr. Timberlake's angelic voice.
