Rin's POV

(Next day/evening club activities)

I was lining up with my teammates, listening to my coach talk as usual but then coach said

"alright everyone a new member will be joining the club today. Come in kid!" coach said

I was looking at the door and my eyes widened....

"hello everyone! I'm Ego Hana! I'll be the team's manager! I hope we can all get along!" 

'WHY IS SHE HERE!!??'

(y/n)'s POV

I was smiling and introducing myself to every and i can feel rin's shocked stare....

"Now then all of you be nice to her ok?" the coach said and the practice begins and not once did rin looked my way...

'rude..' I thinks as I watched the practice most likely rin's play... the whole time i was observing all I could think was..

'something isn't right....'the way he plays is so limited. it's like he's forced to hold back...' 

(after practices)

Everyone including the coach already went home the only one left was me and rin. i kept watching rin practice...

"you should take a rest itoshi kun...." i said but rin denied "not yet that shot is not where I wanted it....." he said

"but i thinks its going to rain soon...." I said as i look at the sky...

rin sighed and said "fine." we packed our stuff and started to walk to the gates... as we  were walking i asked "what is soccer to you itoshi kun ? why do you play?" I asked. rin let out a tsk and said

"why do you wanna know?"

"you know i have to understand you better to help you....?" i said annoyed with his attitude

".......I'm going to be the best in the world after my brother and win the world cup together.... anything other then that is worthless.."

"hm? after your brother? would that even be 'the best' in the world...." i asked

"it doesn't matter.... what matter is i have to improve much faster... with the way i am now i won't be able to keep up with the promise i made with my brother..." he said determined 

'itoshi kun....' I thought.

(next day)

"coach! can you lend me the team's video tapes? i just need to observe something." I asked to coach.

"huh sure? what do you need to know?" The coach said

"Hm...... Just a few things..." I said as I grabbed the tape box.

(At home)

It's been a whole day since I started to observe the team tapes. They were tapes of the team before sae left. I took many notes of everyone's play styles. Mostly rin's and his older brother sae's. Rin's development before his brother left and after his brother left... I observe everything for the whole night not resting a bit.

"It seems like rin's ability decrease when  itoshi senpai left...." I said to myself...

'that's no good. He seems dependent on his brother... He struggles a lot without him... His options decrease... A striker should shine on his own... But how can I do that.... This school's team isn't good enough for Rin... He won't be able to grow this way....' I thought

(Next day)

"Alright everyone from today we'll change our play style!" The coach said, confusing the player.

I stepped up and explain the new position... The whole time Rin was looking at me with bewilderment.
Soon we started to train and I observe the match. As expected Rin's movements changed. He now have more options... He scores more then he did.

"All according to plan!" I whispered smirking...

(At the school gates)

I was about to leave the school when suddenly

"Hey!"

I turned to see Rin who was running towards me

"Yes itoshi Kun?" I said

"Let me walk you home..." He whispered looking away

"Huh?"

"God damnit I want to walk you home! I have something to say to you!!!" He yelled attracting others students.
He looked like he was about to jump at me.

"S sure.." I said hesitantly. Afraid that he might actually kill me if I refuse.

As we were walking he said

"You did something didn't you.... The play style changing wasn't coach's doing right?"

"Ohh bingo! Haha you sure are observant!" I said laughing.

".......why..."

"Hm? What do mean itoshi Kun?" I said confused

"Why are you going to such length to help me... What do you want from me..." Rin said coldly not looking at me.

"Ehh so rude Rin.. I'm doing this out of my heart y'know! I would ne-"

"Just say it...." He said annoyed

"Huh!? I am saying it... Anyway... Why am I helping you? Hmmm.."
I said as I looked down

I skipped past a few steps and said

"You have a lot of potential itoshi Kun... And  You're the first one to be able to keep up with me.. Soo I kinda see you as a rival?? A competition?? Someone I can help grow to test myself with?" I said walking ahead of him.

Rin let out a tsk in annoyance at my words. He felt insulted. He was about to yell but..

"But y'know I just got really interested with you... Aside my brother you're the best soccer player I've seen itoshi Kun... I couldn't help but admire you.. so I just want to help you out of my heart ok?" I said smiling softly as I turned to face him.

He seems shocked by my words.

He looked away and said

"Whatever let's go..." He said walking past me not letting me see his face.

"E eh what's wrong itoshi Kun!?" I said follow his fast pace.

"Let's just go!!! I'm going to be late!!"
Rin argue as he started to ran.

"Ah? But you're the one who said- h hey wait! Slow down! Heyyy!! You don't even know my address!!" I said laughing as I started to run too.
