(y/n)'s pov
It's been 2 weeks since I became rin's team manager. Surprisingly, Rin picks me up for school every day. My mornings go by me being picked up by Rin. Attending class. Observing the team play (mostly rin's play) and be walked home by Rin.
(At home)
I was brushing my hair, and suddenly, there were several knocks on my door. I quickly opened the door to see an irritated Rin.
"What the hell are you taking so long for!?" Rin yelled
"Jeez, I'm a girl, ok!? Go wait a few more minutes! If you don't want to wait, you could just go on your own!" I said, annoyed.
"Just hurry up!" Rin said as he pushed me back to my room. I groaned, annoyed as I finished preparation.
(At school)
"Your brother sure is making a name for himself out there... I heard he got an offer from a famous club! He's pretty amazing."
I said as we walked in the hallway.
"Huh? How do you know so much?? It's not in the news yet.." Rin asked, looking at me, surprised.
"I read it from an international news sites... You don't?" I said
"W wait so you understand English??"
"Yeah?"
" Then teach me! I want to read from there, too!"
"Eh? But he's your brother... You could've just called him to know how he was doing..."
"No! I.. he's really busy, so I don't want to bother him! Just teach me!" Rin demanded.
"Ahh, fine, fine... Let's go to an internet cafe after school..."
"What? Why can't we just go to your house or my house..."
"Are you seriously inviting a girl to be alone with at your house? How responsible!" I mocked
Rin let out a tsk and said
"Whatever, go wherever you want! Just don't disappoint me.."he said as he walked ahead.
"Wow, you won't get a girlfriend this way, y'know.." I said deadpan... And heard a loud 'shut up!'. I just sighed and went to my own classroom.
(club activates)
the team was having a meeting with the coach.. nationals are coming and we have to prepare. but i was hesitant....
'This won't work... this team is not prepared enough... with the way things are going, rin can't play as he wishes...'
As the team train and i observe the match as usual.... 'No, this is not gonna work'.. i can see that rin was struggling to play properly since his team can't keep up with rin's play.
"I have to something to increase rin's possibilities...." I mumbled.
(at the internet café)
"Thanks for paying the room, rin..." i said as i got my books out.....
"It's nothing... I'm the one who invited you..." rin replied as he took out his own notebooks ............................
(a few hours later...)
"Wow, you're a natural a this itoshi kun! you already memorized the whole alphabet and greetings!" i said pretty amazed by his skills...
"hmph... it's not that hard...." he said, and he looked at his watch and said "that's enough for today.. it's 7 pm.. i'll take you home now..." he said as he packed his bag...
"t thank you for your consideration, but i can go back on my own... i mean, i always go alone everywhere..." i said.
"No.. it's not safe for a girl to be out at this time... I insist, " he said
"I...thank you...." i said as i also packed my things.
It's been 1 week of me teaching rin English. Surprisingly, rin was a fast learner... he was pretty determined to learn English so that he can read about his brother in English news sites. But soon i learn that despite how determined he is to learn English he neglect all his other subjects for football...
and his team keeps training for the nationals, but as usual... his team fails to keep up with rin's playstyle... every time the team plays, rin was struggling, and his options are very small...
'i have to do something.... or else itoshi kun's development is gonna stall greatly....'i wondered
(at the nationals)
the tournament is finally here. rin was determent to win.. but i still have doubts
'This won't work at all...' i thought.
as they started to play and just like how i predicted, the team being unable to cooperate and follow rin's playstyle and eventually we lost to the other school..
the other teammates think nothing of it but rin....
rin was beyond frustrated.
i was walking in the hallway trying to find rin so we can head back to school, but i heard a loud bang
Rin's POV
I slammed my head to the lockers. Frustrated.
"shit... shit! Why....I... damn it!" i groaned.
'At this rate, i can't keep up.... our promise... what should i do....'
"Nii-chan........" i said
Y/N's POV
........................................
i walked away, leaving rin alone..
'What should i do... how can i help him.....Maybe i can ask onii-chan for help.'
i thought as i walked to the bus...
(at night)
i opened my phone and got ready to send a voice message to onii-chan
"Hey, onii-chan..... it's been long... sorry, i was pretty busy. You must be busy too.. i hope you're doing well in Germany.... and um recently, i joined my school's soccer cub as their manager... and uh, this one particular player is really extortionary... and lately, he wasn't able to shine because of his teammates failing to keep up.... and I'm worried that if this continued, he would start lowering himself in order to play....... so um could you give me some advice on how to help him? i know your'e busy too, and I'm sorry... so yeah... things are going well. I hope that you're the same and be careful with your diet too... thank you for everything goodbye onii-chan...." I said, and I hit sent. I sighed.
'Hopefully, I didn't bother him too much....' I thought. I laid back on my bed and mumbled.
"I'll do my best to help you, itoshi kun...."
