8. The Alleyway

Jeongin was walking back from hanging round Felix's before the freckled boy and Jisung left to go to their shift. Seungmin normally walked part of the way home with him, but recently started going a different way back to his home as he found it was quicker considering the two lived in separate directions. Jeongin sighed as he went through the small street which seperated the two's paths to their designated homes. It wasn't the prettiest street or area in District 9, but it was one which Jeongin recognised all to well to be his home. The rigged signs and bare streets with the dim lights lighting the alleyway.

Many always claim to never go through alleyways alone. Especially when going to someplace such as home. But for Yang Jeongin he liked the mystery of walking through the slim pathway. The thrill of the unknown to what's going to happen. Being he lived in District 9, his family had taught him self defense against all kind of problems. From vampires to thieves who tried to live bare, trying to escape the system in place. Not that escaping worked out for many. Records show they all died in the end. So Jeongin knew he'd be able to defend himself against rogue vampires if they'd ever attacked since they were common much more throughout the lower districts. Of course he never encountered one self hand, but his father claimed to have once.

And mind you, he mentioned it was quite a battle. It's how his father earned a scar on his chest. He's always boast and tell the story of how he survived. If it wasn't for Jeongin's mother who was nearby and helped get the rogue off him in time for others to help, he very well wouldn't have been alive. It was a sweet but action packed moment of how his parents met. A story he hoped to have with someone one day. Minus being attacked by a vampire of course.

But alas he kept walking through, he was one who liked adventure and action. Despite his young appearance being maknae of the friend group,  he was one who appealed to be strong one day. As much as being treated younger was nice, he wanted to prove he was more than the little sweet maknae everyone called him to be. Also due to the fact he had brothers both older and younger than him, so being treated as youngest at first was surprising to the boy. Jeongin was lost in his thoughts when he heard a voice from behind him.

A voice he had hoped to never hear again.

"Hey Jeonginniee babyyy, what're you doing here all walking alone?~". Jeongin turned and saw him. The once handsome and savvy Nam Seok. His ex boyfriend. One he thought he could trust and confide in. Only for Seok to belittle him and trade him off as lesser. Jeongin glared at him.

"I'm taking the only way I can to my house idiot. Are you dumb? Fuck off" Jeongin glared at the other annoyed. He avoided him since their breakup and since then Seok hadn't put himself on Jeongin once. So why now of all days?

Seok was one of those boys who at first seemed like an angel, but when he was around his friend... Well. Let's simply say things get tricky. Him and Jeongin met during tutoring, Jeongin was requested to tutor students in his year and Seok was his chosen partner for the term. In the time the two became close and started dating. At first Jeongin slightly noticed how Seok would ignore him when he hung out with his friends, but ignored it as him not wanting to admit he's gay. Seok told Jeongin he hadn't come out compared to Jeongin. Not that people's sexuality is cared about negatively compared to vampires roaming the world. But Jeongin decided to turn a blind eye for his former lover.

It wasn't until Seok's friend's would start belittling and target Jeongin that the maknae realised something was up. And what's worse. Seok would pretend to not notice. At first he wouldn't join in like his friends, but when Jeongin then started ignoring him and threatening to break up, Seok then started joining in. To serve as a warning to not leave him. Jeongin was so happy when he moved to a different university to be free of him as he broke up with the other. Deleted, blocked and changed phone number so he'd never be able to contact him again.
