19. Troubles

First thing Felix saw when he woke up, was the dim, white curtains and walls which surrounded him, that of a hospital, with the beeping sound of a monitor beeping at a constant pace, not too slow but not too fast. His eyes slowly adjusted to the lights as he heard muffled sounds of his friends and parents suddenly coming up to him in his vision. He quickly realised he was in hospital as he sat up. His friends and family were all there having been waiting on him for who knows how long. What was even the time? he wondered. His thoughts were quickly taken away as his mother who'd been crying went to cuddle him instantly.

"Oh my Felix, don't you dare do that to us again! Do you know how worried we were all were?! Were you feeling stressed? Is all these final exams stressing you? Was it those vampires?! Jisung told us you were in a room filled them right when you collapsed, oh my poor boy i'm so sorry we weren't there" She cried hugging him even harder as Felix hugged her back trying to get his mother to stop crying.

"Umma i'm alright don't worry, you shouldn't worry-" Felix was about to say as if he wasn't in full pain as his mother shot up

"Don't worry?! Do you even know what happened to you? What dear Jisung told us of the situation was terrifying, thank god his boyfriend and one vampire actually CARED about your health and Jisung was informed, who knows what would have happened to you, they could've discarded you for nothing letting you die Yongbokkie, do you understand how serious this was?! You could have died and those vampires would not care one bit about you Bokkie and then I would've lost you" She cried even more, calling Felix by his nickname which he was called at home, making the freckled blonde let out a small sob in return.

"I'm sorry mum, i'm sorry" He cried with her as his friends and father just watched solemly. In that same moment, the doctor came in smiling and walking to Felix. Jisung in turn was surprised by the nickname, though equally thought it suited Felix, but knew this wasn't the time nor place to think about it.

"Hey, how are you feeling now?" He asked as Mrs Lee wiped her tears and held Felix's hand as he responded that he felt better now, as the doctor nodded. "May the rest of you leave? Just for a short while so I can do some more check up's privately now that Felix is awake and i'll call you in later" he spoke as he turned to Felix "I already talked with your parents to double check you don't have any genetic conditions or history of family with similar attacks which I will talk and take you through everything, alright?" He asked again as Felix's friends waved goodbye, same with his parents who unlike his friends, stayed and waited outside, looking in where possible not wanting to keep Felix out of their sights.

Once they all left, the doctor sat near Felix and smiled warmly "Could you tell me what happened in as much detail as possible? We took some tests and did the normal measurements and procedures of the situation, but hearing you experience would help me and the nurses get a better idea of what caused your attack whatever it may be"

Felix, at first was reluctant. Not because he didn't trust the doctor, he was human. But simply he didn't trust the hospital practise, as all of them are run and owned by vampires who could easily catch any information they'd like by a whiff of their hand. Even if the humans were kind hearted themselves, it wouldn't change the facts that they could easily be swayed by money or me made to leak information by mere force. You never knew. Ontop of that, there was the bills and cost of hospital, which was far too expensive for many to pay back which leads to further debt added on. Especially if you lived in District 9, it was much tougher to pay for hospital.

"Doctor sir, honestly i'm fine" Felix said "I-I can simply go i'll be able to manage"

The doctor seemed to notice Felix's unsure expression and comment as he sighed "You can trust me, you may not feel like it but you can. I like you am human, prey for the vampires and I chose to become a doctor to help others who're suffering" the doctor said "Yes, sadly the practise is owned by vampires like all of them are and I can't do anything about that, but what I can do is make sure you get the treatment and help that you need to avoid another attack like the one you just had. I absolutely promise you, anything and everything you say will be kept confidential between us, same with all my patients I would never dare to say anything to anyone, no matter who they are. You're 19 your record says? Then if you don't want too, I won't tell your parents either considering you are over 18, only if you'd want me too okay?"
