Natsuo yawned as his grip on the steering wheel tightened. He had been driving for god knows how long. Tears pricked at his eyes as he reached over to fix the blanket on Fuyumi. He took her glasses off and placed them in the cup holder gently.
Natsuo grabbed his thermos and took a swig of cold coffee, the liquid running down his throat and splashing into his empty stomach, making it gurgle angrily.
When was the last time he had eaten? He looked at the clock and almost spat out his coffee. 3:18am.
Natsuo groaned as he pulled off to the side road, the car crawling forward some meters before coming to a stop at the widest part of the shoulder.
He put his head back and sighed, closing his eyes. An approaching vehicle made him open them again. He looked around panicked before his eyes landed on headlights that were approaching from behind.
Natsuo reached into the back footwells and placed the wide box onto the backseat, covering the two sleeping (cuddling) boys. Placing a few extra blankets on top.
Fuyumi groaned as she rubbed her eyes tiredly. "Nat? What are you doing?" She mumbled, still half asleep.
"Sorry I woke you Yumi, just had to cover the boys."
In an instant she was sitting up and looking around like a mad woman, all remains of sleep gone. "What?! Why??"
Natsuo placed his hand on her shoulder, snapping her out of her crazed actions. "Just a precaution. There's a car coming from behind us."
Fuyumi and Natsuo waited a few more seconds before the car zoomed past, continuing down the road without another thought.
Fuyumi and Natsuo sighed deeply, all air exhaling from their lungs. "Thank god." Fuyumi breathed out, placing a hand over hee racing heart.
Natsuo placed the box back into the footwell, Fuyumi glanced at the clock, gasping softly. "Jesus! Why didn't you wake me up sooner??"
"Huh?" Natsuo clipped his seatbelt back in, staring at Fuyumi confused. Fuyumi reached over and unclipped his seatbelt. "What the..."
"Move." She pushed Natsuos face out the way as she squirmed over onto the drivers seat. Natsuo chuckled and shook his head as he squashed himself over to the passengers seat.
"You are so fucking stubborn, yumi."
Fuyumi smirked, as she put the vehicle into drive chuckling.
(I've just had a stroke trying to spell vehicle 💀)
"Wonder where I got that from?" She said slyly.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." Natsuo exaggerated, rolling his eyes as he, once again, buckled his seatbelt.
Once Fuyumi checked that the two boys were safely strapped in she put on her sunnies. (Over her glasses.) And slammed her foot down on the accelerator.
Natsuo screamed and held on for dear life as Fuyumi sped back onto the road, going airborne for a few seconds before getting into the right lane. The speed increasing as the screams of what sounded like a girl, echoed into the silent night.

Now that we have taken a minute silence! Sorry for the short chapter, again if you have any ideas I'm all ears. I have a fair idea on where to go from here but anything would be helpful :)
