After a series of tests, training, and overall no rest whatsoever, the nurses and pilots decided to take a nice break and go dancing at a night club. It felt nice to dress up once in a while after the constant days of wearing a nurse apron.

Lizzie chose to wear her dark green dress that fell down to her mid-calves. It fit really nicely on her, and it was her most favorite dress she owned. She smoothed it down, fixed her hair, and put on a touch of makeup before heading onto the train with the others.

"Oh, this is going to be so much fun girls, I just know it," Betty said excitedly as she pushed Sandra to hurry into her seat.

"I can't believe it, Saturday night in New York City," sighed Barbara, "you know what we'd be doing back where I come from? Nothing. Cow-tipping."

Lizzie smiled, "I'm so glad we finally have a day to relax and take our minds off of things for a bit," the women agreed, "annnd we get to have so fun with the guys tonight too."

Giggles filled the car. Obviously, this night was for them to have fun, and how else would they do that without a little bit of flirtation? The buzz from all their excitement led Betty to ask Evelyn, "Oh Evelyn, you should tell them the story!"

Evelyn smiled and looked down, "Oh I would, but it's- it's just so long."

The others urged her to tell, "It's ok! We got time!"

The dark-haired woman then told the story of how she met Rafe at registration. She went on about details like how he took another yellow fever shot even though he already got it, just to talk to Evelyn, and breaking his nose whilst doing that. The other girls were giggling as she continued her story, "That's the most romantic story I've ever heard in my life," said Sandra,

"It's been the most romantic four weeks and two days of my life," said Evelyn, as she replayed all of the dates and memories she's made with Rafe.

She looked at Lizzie, and nudged her with her elbow, "However, I'm not the only one who's been seeing someone lately," she raised her brows at Lizzie to tell the others about Danny.

Lizzie, being the whipped girl for the shyest pilot she knows spewed out everything to the girls. She left no detail behind, telling them everything about Danny. She felt like she could talk about him for hours nonstop. She went on about the walk in the park, him dropping her off, and her "accidentally" leaving her handkerchief in his car. The nurses could tell that this girl was in love too.

"When is it my turn?" pouted Betty. The others laughed at their blonde-haired friend as they waited eagerly to arrive in the city.

Once they finally arrived in New York City, the girls looked around to see if they could spot the guys anywhere, radiating their excitement. Lizzie caught sight of Danny and rushed towards him. She threw her arms around him and smiled as he spun her around in a circle, "You look amazing," he whispered. She beamed up at him and smoothed down his formal attire, "You don't look too bad yourself, Lieutenant."

The nightclub was buzzing with people dancing, drinking, singing, and mingling. Pilots and nurses were flirting, some succeeding while others... well they were definitely flirting in ways. Lizzie and Danny walked hand in hand and found a table with all their friends. After several attempts of trying to get Danny out of the seat to dance, Lizzie dragged him onto the dance floor.

"I'm warning you Lizzie, I can't dance to save my life" gulped Danny, "you don't exactly do the samba in a plane." Lizzie gave him a comforting smile, "Don't worry about it, just focus on me and it'll be great, I promise!" She took his hands and swung them around, "See, it's all easy! Just have fun with it."

To her surprise, Danny did dance well. Sure, he was still a little stiff from nervousness, but as soon as he narrowed his focus on Lizzie, all of his nerves left his body. The dark-haired male found himself dancing about, and laughing on the dance floor. His eyes never left Lizzie. He loved how Lizzie danced like nobody else was around them. He loved how she sang to every song, even when she was mostly off key. And, he loved how she easily made him feel ok to step out of his comfort zone.

Lizzie couldn't help but smile at Danny. This whole night just felt like it was just them two together, no one else. These past few weeks with him have so far been the most fun she's ever had. She giggled as he spun her around, and held her in his arms as a slow song started to play. Lizzie's arms traveled to his neck and his went to her waist. Danny pulled her closer to where their foreheads touched. As they swayed along to the song Lizzie whispered, "You know, I really love spending time with you. I've never felt like this towards anyone ever in my life. Thank you for that, Daniel Walker." A smile played on the pilots face as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind Lizzie's ear, "You're everything I could ever dream of, Elizabeth Farley."

Lizzie looked into those honey-colored eyes of his. She saw his sincerity, and his true feelings deep down. He said it all in his eyes that Lizzie was the only one he wants. She leaned in and pressed her lips on his. Sparks flew inside both of them as they kissed. Everything around them faded away, leaving just them two in their moment. To Lizzie, their kiss felt like fireworks exploding in her stomach. It was the perfect feeling for their first kiss.

When they pulled away, Danny asked, "Wanna get out of here?" Lizzie nodded, took his hand, and followed him out the door.

They really didn't have a plan as to where they were going, so they decided to walk around and see what would come along the way. The two found themselves on a pier bordering the Hudson River. As they sat down, Lizzie gasped as she saw the city lights shine brightly, and the reflection of the moon on the river.

"Isn't it such a beautiful night, Danny?"

"You make it even more beautiful, darling."

She turned to him and smiled big, and rested her head on his shoulder, not ever wanting to leave his side. But then she remembered that everyone was being stationed to their new assignments in the next few weeks. Was there a chance she might never see Danny again? After all the time they've spent together, it was all going down the drain?

"Hey, you know they're shipping us out soon, right?" inquired Danny. It was like he read her mind.

"Yea, I know my assignment already too."

"Wanna say our assignments together? Because why the heck not?"

Lizzie nodded, "Sure," she prayed and prayed in her mind that they'll end up in the same place. She didn't know what she'll do if they weren't. Danny was thinking the exact same thing, he didn't want to go anywhere where Lizzie wasn't.

"Okay, 1... 2... 3,"

"Pearl Harbor"
