Chapter 13

The next two weeks was a blur, lily got retired and my work doubled.
We arranged a small farewell party for lily, but dylan did't show up.
Later i got to know he gifted her a limited edition watch for her timeless service.
I was all around the building gathering contacts, i had to arrange a fun raising event.
Though all the work was done by event management crew. I had to be there for the things which got imported for auction.
I contacted all the businessmen around the country and posted invitation letters.
After two weeks of hard work the eve of the fund raiser came.
I had to accompany dylan with all the contacts memorised incase he forgets names.
I was dressed in a black wrap dress it was formal yet classy
I had red pumps to match with it.
It was 6 in the evening and i waited for dylan with all the documents and neceassary files.
Just then the elevator door dinged and a beautiful woman stepped out.
She was in a red gown that had a high slit upto her thigh. She paired it with diamond hoops and a diamond bracelet. She looked elegant.
She came up to me "you are ariana?" She asked.
"Yes maam" i replied.
"Please call me Meg, is dylan ready?"
"Ummm... i think-"
"Meg? You look gorgeous" dylan said coming out of his office.
"You are not so bad yourself mr ceo" she smiled shyly.
Is she his girlfriend? I haven't seen her before though.
My breath hitched when his eyes fell on me. He was stunning in his three peice black armani suit.
"Ariana you got everything?" He asked.
"Yes.. yes sir" he nodded.
He placed his hand on meg's waist and urged her towards the elevator. I followed them.
I was seated on the passengers seat with josh driving while they sat at the back seat.
It hurted to see them togethar talking and laughing like they were old friends. I guess he loves her.
We reached and i got out of the car waiting for them as cameras flashed while they posed.
I was standing behined dylan bored as he talked to others.
After sometime meg led him to the dance floor. I watched them enviously.
"Hey cinderalla!" Some one whispered in my ear.
I turned around to see daniel smirking at me.
I smiled, "what are you doing here?" I didn't remember him inviting.
"Family! you look heartbreakingly beautiful" he smiled.
I laughed and hit his arm playfully.
"Thank you. You clean up pretty well yourself" i replied.
"Would you do me the honour of dancing with me my lady?"he faked a british accent extending his hand.
I laughed and  placed my hand in his "surely my lord" i chuckled as he pulled me to the dance floor.
We were waltzing around the floor, he was a great dancer.
"I was thinking if you would like to go out with me for dinner" he asked his blue eyes on me.
I smiled "okay"
He smiled.
The song ended after a couple of momments later.
"As i would love to dance with you all night, i have to attend to my family cinderalla" he said.
"Sure"
He pulled my hand to his lips and kissed my knuckles lingering there for a few seconeds his eyes on me as i blushed.
"Later my lady" he said before turned and left.
I looked to my right to see brown eyes staring at me with an unreadable expression.
I stood there mesmerised by them before i finally pulled myself out of reverie and walked out of the dance floor.
