Sneaking Around?

And just like that, my future got a little brighter.
Weeks passed and our lives were busy. Mostly just with practice, dance practice of all things. Yoongi tried to sway his way out of having to be a member of a group that danced, but nevertheless he paid his dues like the rest of us. There was about ten of us training together, all with a different skill set and determination. Everyday was just another reminder that we were just kids trying to live out a pipe dream, but some of us were hungrier than the rest.
Y/n enrolled in online school, and got a part time job as a delivery girl to help a few costs we ran into along the way. Yoongi kept his job at the dive bar on the weekends, and I decided to tutor rich kids in the small amount of spare time I had.
Before we knew it months had gone by and we were no closer to a debut than when we started. Call it maturity, responsibility, or just plain survival, but we all did everything we could not to show how exhausted we were. We weren't sure what was going to get us cut, because as days would pass trainees would just vanish. It was down to seven of us, and we were starting to feel like family.
Y/n came to deliver us dinner one night, which was my way of getting to see her without getting into any trouble.
"So, you famous yet?" She teased handing me our food.
"Very funny. Want to come in and meet everyone? The adults are having a meeting so I think we can sneak you in."
She agreed and walked in behind me. "Guys, this is y/n. Childhood friend of ours."
"Y/n this is Jin, taeyhung, jimin, and Jungkook. And you know Hobi and Yoongi of course."
"Hi everyone! So, who's in charge around here? This guy's sneaking girls in already," said said pointing at me.
They all laughed at her joke which made y/n feel good about herself, per usual.
"Actually, Rap Monster is the one in charge," said Jimin.
Y/n looked at me with the widest eyes and instantly held back her laughter. "I'm sorry? Your name is Rap MONSTER?"
"Ok...say goodbye to y/n everyone!" I said trying to turn her to the door.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," she said trying to make up. "But we will be discussing this later," she mumbled. "I should get going though. Don't want to get you guys in trouble. By the way, Yoongi text me the address for later!"
Yoongi? Why is she meeting up with my brother, I wondered. The two of them had never hung out alone before.
Yoongi nodded at her and y/n said goodbye to everyone before grabbing her delivery bag to head out the door.
I followed behind her. "So, um, what are you and my brother doing later?" I tried to act casual about it so she wouldn't think I was upset.
"He asked to get drinks after practice and when my shift was over," she said like it was no big deal.
"Oh. Like a date?"
She scoffed. "Hardly. And if it were I wouldn't be meeting him in my uninform, smelling like fried rice."
I didn't buy that my brother had just decided to start hanging out with y/n one on one out of the blue.
"Do you two hang out a lot?" I realized there was no way of sugar coding that question without sounding a little jealous.
"I don't know? Sometimes we talk after you and J-Hope go to bed. Why is that weird?"
If I told her how I really felt about it the conversation would likely take a turn, and I wasn't sure I ready for that awkwardness just yet.
"It's not weird," I said. "Just didn't know if you like, had a crush on him or something."
She didn't say anything right away which told me she was choosing her words carefully, something y/n rarely ever did.
"Would that be so bad?" She finally said. "I mean I know he's your brother but, I don't know, I think he's cool. Plus he's really nice to talk to, especially about all the stuff I don't really get to talk to you about anymore these days."
"We talk?" I said almost defensively. "Since when do we not talk about things?"
She could tell I was getting upset, which I felt bad about so I tried to calm down before she took off.
"Sorry," I said. "Maybe it is a little weird."
"Well it's not a date. So don't worry. But, I have to get back. We can talk later!"
She headed out the back door and left me standing there with a pit in my stomach. Now all those feelings I had buried for the last few years were starting to consume my thoughts again. This was exactly what I was always trying to avoid with y/n but now that she might be starting to like my brother, I was starting to panic. I tried to shake it off during that last hours of practice, but it was obvious I was in my head. The guys knew something was off after about the fourth time we started over the routine because of my missed steps.
We took a water break and I tried to get myself together.
"You good bro?" Yoongi said sitting down next to me.
What was I going to say? If y/n said it wasn't a date then it wasn't a date. Was it weird Yoongi never mentioned wanting to hang out with her solo? Very! Especially if he knew I had always liked her.
"So, what are you and y/n going to do after practice?"
He shrugged. "Grab drinks. Nothing crazy."
I nodded like it was whatever. "You like her?" I said looking away from him with a clenched jaw.
He let out a small laugh. "Is that what your problem is? You think I like y/n all of the sudden?"
I shrugged at him like I wasn't sure what I was supposed to think of this situation.
"We're just grabbing drinks. You can come if you want."
The pit in my stomach grew about a hundred sizes. Not only was y/n crushing on my brother, but he was acting as if he didn't feel the same way. Now I felt horrible for y/n.
"You shouldn't lead her on," I said.
"What are you talking about? Nothing is going on."
"I know, I know," I said quickly, realizing I was about to give away info y/n just told me. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you ever do end up liking her, just say it."
"We're too busy for this," Yoongi said with a laugh. "We're over here trying to dance of all things, and you think I have time to think about a girl?"
He was right, I couldn't allow myself to get caught up in some high school drama when we had bigger things to focus on. Y/n didn't understand that about our situation, maybe it was time she headed back home.
