Yaseen's POV
7th May, Thursday
Ugh! I feel so tired. It's as if like I can't move. My throat feels dry. I need water. But I can't open my eyes or move my mouth.
"Rush him to the operation theatre! He needs oxygen hurry up! Call the other doctors! Give him anaesthesia! Hurry! Hurry!"
What? What is all this?
I try to open my eyes and finally open them a little. There were people around me and I was moving. Am I on a stretcher? Wait! Am I in a hospital?!
Memories from a whole ago came flooding into my mind. The blood, the vomiting, the phone call.
I feel weak again.
My eyes close themselves as I fall into an abyss.
Author's POV
30 minutes after the phone call, an ambulance had arrived and he was rushed to the hospital. Someone had called Yaseen's guardians from Yaseen's phone. Both of them arrived in a rush and were sweating bullets.
The doctors had found out that Yaseen's blood contained traces of poison. The doctors guessed that he must have drunk or eaten something that contained the poison.
A deadly poison.
One thing was clear.
He was poisoned on purpose.
After a few hours, Yaseen was finally safe. He had taken the poison in a very large amount and it was a mystery how he was still breathing even for 1 hour after he collapsed. While the Mr. and Mrs. Zia (AKA Yaseen's uncle and aunt) were consulting with the doctor, Yaseen was left alone in his ward to rest.
Yaseen's POV
I have been awake for what feels like 20 minutes now. My head is throbbing but the pain slowly subsides as I close my eyes.
"Finally! You woke up."
What? I flutter my eyes open.
"Don't be scared. I'm Eropogotis."
I wasn't able to speak because of the shock. Maybe the anaesthesia was still active.
"Maybe sleeping a little more won't do much harm."
"Listen mate, if you sleep anymore, I will paralyse you. It's better that you take a walk."
My mouth was agape. Am I losing my mind?
As I was lost in my thoughts, the door burst open showing my aunt who looked like a mess of emotions. Anger and fear probably.
"Oh my baby! I couldn't sleep a wink! You know how much you had us worried?" aunt cried and my ears hurt. She was a nice woman but she could be really loud sometimes.
"I'm okay. You don't need to be worried."
"She's loud!" the same voice!
"Oh shush! Let me check up on you."
"But I'm fine, reall-" one glare from my aunt and my mouth was shut.
"Mate. Should we be friends?"
All the noises muffled as I focused on the sound that was ringing in my mind.
"What are you?"
My aunt looked at me with wide eyes.
"I'm your auntie. Did you forget me?"
I came back to reality as I focused on my aunt's horrified face.
"What?"
"Sameena, sit down. You're scaring the poor kid." my uncle calmly said.
"But-"
"No buts." my uncle tapped on the seat beside him gesturing her to sit down.
"Fine." She sat down as uncle looked at her lovingly.
OK! Enough of the lovey-dovey drama. They are making me feel single already. I coughed to get their attention and gladly I got it.
"Yaseen beta, can you tell us what happened on the day you were poisoned? I mean, where did you go, what you ate, everything."
"Well, everything felt normal. I went to Collage, came back, went to academy. On my way back......" my head hurt as I tried to focus on the last part. Suddenly, it hit me. The café! I had ordered a coffee there. It didn't taste like any usual coffee and had an unusual smell.
Maybe the coffee had poison in it.
But who would do that?
