Author's POV
3rd April, Friday
As Yaseen was walking past a dark alley, he felt someone stalking him. He tried to keep calm and continued on walking. He looked at his watch which read 10:15 pm. He always tried to reach home as late as possible. He didn't have the courage to face his parents after smoking cigarettes.
The stalker was slowly approaching him.
He started walking faster.
Wrong move!
The stalker ran after him and pinned him to the ground. Yaseen groaned and tried to free himself.
"Listen boy, if try to do any treachery, I will slit your throat and cut your heart out and feed it to humans."
Yaseen's eyes widened in horror.
"Take all my money but please let me go."
"Oh no. You're not g-"
SHOOT!
The man fell on the ground as blood oozed out of his head. Yaseen eyes went up to the man who was holding a gun. The man stretched out his hand to help him up. Yaseen gladly accepted his hand and got up.
"Be careful kid. There are many robbers out here at this time."
"T-thank you sir."
"Your welcome. Should I drop you home?"
"No, I-I'll be F-fine."
"Alright. Safe journey. Allah hafiz."
"Allah hafiz."
Yaseen was still shaking as he bolted towards his house. He wanted to hide himself in a corner of his room. As he entered the street, he saw a crowd of people screaming. There was a house on fire! His house! He ran towards it.
"Hey boy! Stop! You'll die!" some men screamed after him but all the noises were muffled and he could only focus on the thought of safety of his parents. As he entered the building, he screamed for his parents. He felt a hand pull him back. He didn't look behind and kept moving forward.
"Yaseen."
This voice was familiar. So familiar that it scared him.
"Yaseen don't do this."
He turned around.
"Saad? Is it you? Is it really you?" He couldn't believe his eyes.
"Did you miss me?"
"So much." tears sparkled in his emerald green eyes.
The thought of his parents flashed in his mind again.
"I need to save mom and dad." His eyes widened. Saad gave him a sad smile. Yaseen retreated back.
"You're not real." his voice choked.
"I'm here to take them."
"No." he whispered.
Saad smiled again.
"No, no, no."
He felt numb. Black dots danced in front of his eyes as he slowly passed out. The last words he could hear were "I love you."
