I walked into the school compound that once again was buzzing with students both old and new ones. Looking around, everything was exactly as it was before the holiday, same old faded paint peeling off the walls, the railing on the balcony are still very much rusted if not more, and the Grass and bushes have very much grown, I feel sorry for the late comers.

Thankfully I still have a few minutes before the start of Assembly; so I hurried toward the direction of my new classroom. I know for a fact that Vivian was already here. For someone who claims she's not cut out for school, she always came early. Just I as turn the Corner that Led to the senior block, I spot Vivian standing at the door of the SS3 Art classroom talking to one of her classmate.

Vivian Abeni is what you call a social butterfly, she's out going, easily make friends, funny, very loud and on top of that, she beautiful with her dark complexion and all. But, yes there but, she can turn 180° and go all crazy when she angry, she a no nonsense girl, if you do anyhow-you will see anyhow.

Anyway, we meet in JSS1 when she first started here and became one of my seatmate together with two other of our classmates. Vivian and immediately hit it off when I had broken my pencil in two, and offered her one half because she had forgotten hers at home. We've been friends ever since, basically sisters I would say. Vivian was the only one who really knows what goes on at home aside my brother; she helps and support me as much as she can.

LILY," I heard Vivian calling my name, pulling me out of my thoughts to notice I was much closer to her now and she was fast walking towards me.

Vivian," I called out to her too, grinning from ear to ear. I've really missed her. We pulled each other in bone crashing hug; jumping and screaming at the same time causing some students around to look at us.

What were you thinking about"? She questioned eyeing me. I called you like three times before you answered," she added, rolling her eyes.

Do mind me Jara, I was in lost my head," I answered smiling sheepishly.

Girl, look at you oo, you shining, ah God when," I teased her with a grin on my face.

Hmm, with the way you are shining your teeth ehn, I don't know if you're being serious or just whining me oo," she responded laughing.

Ahah I'm serious na, you that was almost dragging colour with charcoal before you left for the holiday," I joked trying to hold in my laugh when I saw the look on her face.

See Albino calling me charcoal," she retorted with a smug look. I was gaping at her right before we bust out laughing.

I guess that's why we make sense, opposite attract afterall," I said between laughing fits. "Anyway, let get going, assembly is about to start," I reminded just as the bell rings for assembly

We hurried up to my new classroom, SS3 science class, I found myself an empty seat, kept my bag in the locker then we went for assembly, which only lasted a few minutes with a welcome back speech, do better this team, keep to rule and regulations blah blah blah. We heading back in no time to our classrooms.

Classes went by like every other usual first day of school way, during break period Vivian and I talked about the holiday, activities and places she went. It's was after closing time and I was walking home from school Vivian and I already parted she lives three street before me. Just when I was close to my house out of nowhere a ball hit me at the side of head.

Jesus," I screamed holding my head. Then I heard laughing from the direction the ball came from, then I looked up and frown. It was no other than Noso, I swear my village people send this boy to me. Seeing as he not in his uniform, he didn't come to school today.
