Is the Future Really Now!?

An Odd Request I Will Take.

The room goes silent for a good second or two. I then witness Damien take a deep breath and look at me while trying to keep his composure. Damien then says "Sophocles, I know you and I have been waiting for this entire moment ever since we met and..." I grow even more invested in what Damien is about to say to me. Damien continues, "Sophocles, can you... can you be my boyfriend?" Damien stands up and looks away in a fluster upon asking this. My eyes also widen at this request, but not in a bad way. He was right, I have been waiting for the moment he would ask me out ever since we started working together as cadet and mentor. 

I take a moment to think about this sudden request of affection. I then say, "Yes! Oh yes Damien! I would absolutely love to be your boyfriend... It would be amazing! But, what will happen if our co-workers know? Damien tells me not to worry about that part and he says "Oh don't worry dear, they already know. They planned a karaoke bar date for all of us tomorrow! We are planning on it being a drinking party too!" A karaoke and drinking party huh? I think to myself. I mean I am the legal age to be doing stuff like that. Besides, I'm not gonna get too drunk. Alcoholism really isn't healthy. I'll have a cocktail or two and that's about it.

A thought then dongs on me. I then ask Damien, "Will Kyle be there? I hope he won't crash our date if he is..." Damien then looks at me and says, "Absolutely not. Don't worry, at the space center we all hate the little guy. And since we know how much of a jerk he is to you, of course we didn't invite him!" I then feel a wave of relief wash over me after those exact words are said. He then asks if he can move in with me here in a week or so... I politely accept his offer! I say that he can stay over tonight, but he can hold off moving in until a week or so passes by. Damien then says that he does not have the time to stay over for the night and that he needs to be getting home here soon. And by soon he means now. As Damien heads out the door and we say our goodbyes, all of these different thoughts circle through my brain! Tomorrow I not only have work considering it's Saturday, but I also have my first ever date with Damien!

This is going to be one of the best experiences of my life and the best part is, I get to experience it with none other than Damien himself. After I calm down from all of this anxiety, I sit down with Togedemaru and don't even bother moving to my bed tonight... I decide to sleep on my couch with Togedemaru illuminating beside me. 

Tomorrow is going to be one of the best days of my life and I just know it. No Kyle involved. My first date, and I get to share it with my co-workers.. Ah! Goodnight..
