Is the Future Really Now!?

Karaoke Bar and Damien

Date: July 20th.

Time: 8:00 AM.

I wake up after a nice sleep that for some reason made me feel better than my mental health day did... And get out a nice outfit for my karaoke bar date with Damien and my co-workers. I know the date isn't until late tonight, but it's nice to be prepared for the person I want to spend the rest of my life with... I find a generic togedemaru themed tee, and a buttoned jacket to go over it. The button jacket would work if I put the togedemaru themed tee under it due to the color and patterns matching.. Not exactly the most impressive outfit I have, but I'm sure Damien will understand that I probably don't have much with me right now as I just moved in, and I am starting a lifestyle where I have to start dressing a little more formal at times. 

Another concern I have is the amount I should be drinking. I don't want to be so drunk to the point where I can either not function properly, or to the point where I would get a DUI. That would not be a good start to a new life on a new island in a new hometown. All I'm saying is that I don't want to build a bad reputation. Especially in front of the man I'm spending the rest of my days with. 

After a lot of hard work and a ton of overthinking, it is finally time for the party and I look as best as I can right now. Damien of course shoots me a text asking if I am on my way, and that him and my coworkers are there already. I shoot him a text back to tell him I'm just getting in the car to head out. But then, he sends me a text that leaves me flustered for the entire drive there. "Okay, I love you <3" I am fully aware that he does, but that's the first time he's said it to me over text! My face was flushed as soon as I entered and saw him standing by the room they reserved. His was flustered as well. I could describe his face at that moment as that common trope in animes where someone is so flustered you can't even see their eyes anymore.

We head into the karaoke room and we order in our drinks. I finally decide in the end that I don't want to drink. As we are waiting for our drinks, we have a song queue set up. One person picked a song they wanted to sing and then we are going to go in that order. I was oddly allowed to pick first. I pick one of the most classic vocal synth songs out there. "World Is Mine" By Ryo(Supercell). I could've picked a more obscure song, but I picked a song that I figured everyone in the room would know. (Considering all of them are giant nerds lol). Lo and behold, I was correct. Everyone in the room was cheering me on as I sang through the song. 

I messed up a few times, but by the time the song even started, everyone (not including Damien by the way) was drunk enough to not even notice. Those people... I hope they don't get caught driving under the influence because that can get those guys fired... I heard of them catching a bus to head home though, which I thought was a good idea.

Everybody got a chance to sing the songs they wanted and we were in that karaoke bar until they were closed for the night! Damien and I both took our cars and headed back to my apartment, as all of our co-workers took a bus so they wouldn't get caught driving under the influence of alcohol. As Damien and I arrived back to my apartment, he set down a box of stuff I assume is his. Oh boy... Damien is finally going to be moving in with me as he talked about! I'm way more excited about this than I should be, but I think it's understandable to people with a significant other like me!

As Damien is done unpacking the box of stuff he brought to make himself feel at home, we sit down on the couch together and we start to talk. Damien tells me that there is going to be a fireworks display tomorrow and that he wants to go see it with me. He also told me that it goes along with the festival that they are having in mossdeep city... This really piques my interest as I had always been a person to like fireworks. Even back when I was a grubby little child I enjoyed seeing fireworks with my friends and family. It may of been because they light up the sky so much that they make me forget about the darkness...

Any-who, I of course accept his offer to see the fireworks display with him! Damien is very happy about this. I am glad that I can make Damien happy, and I am very glad that he can also make me happy too! Even better, take care of me when times are tough. Damien goes on. He says that at the fireworks display tomorrow, he will have a special surprise for me as soon as the display starts.

Surprise? I think to myself, what kind of surprise could he possibly give me under fireworks? It's not like they allow anything too drastic or too cluttering on the grounds... Wait. Could he possibly mean, a kiss? Nah, he couldn't possibly do that. He's too good to kiss someone as wimpy and average as me. Right? RIGHT!? 

Well, enough overthinking. I guess it's time for me to go to sleep. I'm truly excited about the fireworks display tomorrow though.
