Race ran through the lodging house shouting. He was so excited he could hardly believe it. The boys stopped him and asked him what had happened.
"He asked me out can you believe it, we'se is together!"
"Woah, woah, woah who did? Spot?" Jack stopped Race to try and calm him down.
"Yes! It was so cool, and sweet and- wait where's Albert? Whatever it's ok, I'll find him and tell him later but right now I need to tell you guys."

Race walked into Brooklyn, a big smile on his face. It was nice out and he was going to the Sheepsheads what could be better? He was so excited to bet and hopefully win a few. He sat there watching for a bit before betting, he had to watch some of the horses first. He was so invertest in the races he didn't hear nor see the shorter boy who was now sitting next to him, smiling up at him.
"Hey, Racer how's it rolling?" Spot tapped on his shoulder. Race shrieked and nearly jumped ten feet in the air.
"Spot what the hell i'se almost, oh god what are you doing here?" Race asked a blush creeping up on his face.
"I just uh, I needed to ask you something." Spot shouted. The race had ended and it got really loud.
"What'd ya say." Race pulled Spot in closer so he could hear.
"Just come with me." Spot whispered loud enough. Race shuddered but followed Spot out of the races. Spot grabbed Race's hand and lead him into an alleyway, the same one as yesterday.
"Spot what is you'se-." Race never got to finish. He felt a pair of lips on his own. He melted into the kiss, his hands traveling up to Spot's neck as he pulled him closer. Spot pulled away after a while.
"Look, I know we'se haven really talked much and I know your friend hates me but, will you be my boyfriend Race?" Spot said hope in his eyes. Race just pulled Spot in again. And Spot took that as a yes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"And then we spent the rest of the day together! Can you believe it? I can't it's so amazing I can't wait to tell Albert." Race explained to the lodging house. He was so excited he could barely stand it. He wanted to be with Spot now but he just had to tell his friends. Albert on the other hand was trying his best not to burst into tears on the roof. He sat there, a blank expression on his face for a long time. He was angry at himself. Angry for liking Race, angry at Spot, angry that Mush found out so easily, angry at himself. He hated it so much. He could've sworn Race liked him for a bit when they first met but then he saw Spot again and everything changed. Why did he have such bad luck? Why did the universe hate him so much? What had he ever done? Well, he knew but he wasn't ready to admit it to himself yet. He was just going to keep his feeling bottled up. That was the best thing for him right now. He sighed and looked up to the stars. They weren't shining as bright tonight, almost like they were taking pity on Albert. He balled up his fists. This shouldn't be happening. It never should have happened, If he would just control his feelings. This was all his fault. Albert couldn't take it anymore. He started punching the ground shouting and yelling at no one. He finally let his tears fall and of course, he hated it. He fell back onto his knees and laid on the roof tears streaming down his face. He cried for a while. He clearly needed it. Race and Spot weren't gonna go away anytime soon, he knew that. That made his heart ache a million times worse. Eventually, Albert fell asleep on the roof. He was exhausted, mentally and physically. He didn't know what he was gonna do about his little problem with his feelings. He didn't know how they were gonna go away or if they were ever gonna go away and that terrified him. They had to go away if they didn't who know what could happen?
Race found Albert sleeping on the roof ages ago. Race brought a blanket with him and laid it over Albert. Race laid with Albert until he stopped shivering. Race cared about Albert it was clear but something still felt off in Race's heart, but he was too happy about today's events to notice so he stayed there with Albert. Albert wrapped up in Race's arms the blanket over both of them. Race fell asleep soon enough, Albert and Race, Race and Albert.
