A Marriage without Love

Dinner with in-laws

~(Before Marriage)~

**Flashback**

Two days after telling mom that Ethan and me are a thing, we had gone on a date. Not a real date. It was just to make the media and the world aware that Ethan Mackenzie is actually dating someone and is really going to settle down.

So here I am in an outstanding restaurant having diner with the devil. We were silent throughout the diner. We did not exchange a word since we had taken our seats on a 'romantic table' near the beach. We were far from media and people so we were just being ourselves. Ignoring each other.

I was enjoying my huge cup of ice cream when the devil asked me if I would like to have a walk with him on the beach.

"Sure but after I finish my ice cream" I said without even looking at him.

"No we are going right now" He insisted.

"Then just go alone. I'm not coming with you untill I don't finish my ICE CREAM" I glared at him. No one disturb me when I am having an ice cream.

"If you are not coming with me right now trust me I'll make you do so." He hissed.

I ignored him and continued to eat when suddenly he stood up from his chair. I thought he had given up on waiting for me but unfortunately not. He came towards me with so much anger in his eyes.

He grabbed my arm tightly pulling me up from my chair. He had gripped my arm so painfully that my eyes was starting to water. I tried to break free but it was in vain. Without even looking at me, he started walking towards the beach pulling me with him.

I had to look down so that my hair would fall on either side of my face and people passing by won't see the tears that were threatening to fall.

Although we were on the beach, he did not let go of my arm but only made the grip more painful.

"Ethan you are hurting me." I sobbed while trying to break free.

But he did not even glanced at me nor loosened his grip. He just kept dragging me behind him.

"Ethan please let go please.." He stopped walking and let go of me. I looked at the red mark of fingers on my arm. By now my eyes were completely filled with tears. I turned to face the cruel devil only to find him knelt down in front of me.

What is he doing?

He took out a red box from his pocket and opened it, revealing the most breath taking and beautiful ring I'd ever seen.

"Will you marry me sweetheart?" He said with a sexy voice.

By now the tears were flowing down my cheeks. All I wanted to do right now was to run far away from this cruel guy. Some seconds ago he was hurting me and now he is proposing to me. I really wanted to say a big NO!

I could hear the clicking sound of cameras and I could see some flashes.
Oh the proposing scene is for the media. Now I understand why he was in a hurry to come here.
It was all planned. Why he didn't tell me before? I would have gone with the plan.

Although he was giving me a warm smile, I could see hate and anger in his eyes.

"I don't have all night sweetheart." He hissed at me.

'No no no' was what I wanted to say. Unfortunately wiping my tears and remembering it's for the best, for my family, I said the opposite, Yes!

The ring was really beautiful on my finger but all it means is pain and no love.

We went back to the restaurant hand in hand. Thank god he was not holding my hand with force but gently. People was congratulating us. They were happy that their idol has decided to settle down. If only they knew the truth, they would kick their idol ass.

Now the only thing left is to meet my in-laws, Ethan's family.

The drive to Ethan's family house was quiet. Finally I could see a huge gate opening revealing a white mansion.

Ethan stopped the car in front of the main door. We went out of the car and a man greeted us taking the car keys from Ethan. Without even looking at me, the devil started to make his way towards the door leaving me behind.

A petite woman with red hair opened the door. "Oh please come in sir" she said while stepping aside. I went to stand beside Ethan. The woman was looking at me with wide and confused eyes.

I smiled at her and greeted her but she was too shocked and confused to reply.

The devil grabbed my hand and stepped inside pulling me with him. There on the staircase were a man and woman looking at me grinning like a chesire cat.

When they stepped closer to us, I knew instantly they were Ethan's parents. He has the same eyes as his father and same hair as his mother. They looked familiar to me. Have I seen them somewhere? Maybe in some magazine or posters.

"Oh my baby boy finally brought a girl at home to meet us. I am in cloud nine" His mother said giving the devil a bear hug.

Then she came closer to me and gave me a hug too. Suddenly it hit me where I had seen them. They are the couple I met at the shopping mall days ago.

"Welcome to the family Tatiana" his father's said standing beside his wife.

"Thank you mr and mrs Mackenzie" I smiled at them.

"Oh c'mon you're not going to call us 'mr and mrs Mackenzie. You are family now. I'm Leila and you can call me mother and this is Xavier and you can call him father" his mother, Leila said grining like a kid who got a gift.

" Uh.. ok-" I was cut by the petite woman saying dinner is ready.

Leila took me by the hand and lead me to the dining room.

I took a seat and the devil sat beside me.

"I never thought I would see my son let alone engaged but bringing a girl at home." Leila said. What does it mean that he hasn't brought a girl at home? He is a player right? He must have brought many girls here.

"Mom I have brought a girl HOME now please move on" The devil said annoyed.

"Son this is so unbelievable. When I told you to settle down I really didn't thought you would find a bride so quickly." His father said.

Then Ethan and me told our fake love story to them and they bought it all.

Now it was time to go back home.

"I am so impatient to have you live here so we can go shopping together." Leila gave me a goodbye kiss.

I said a goodbye and climbed in the car.
As usual the drive was silent. When we arrived, I mumbled a goodbye and got out of the car. When I turned around the car was gone.

I sigh and went inside the house only to see my mom at the door grining at me. Anna was on the couch watching sponge bob.

"So how was it?" Mom asked excitedly.
"Fine?" I answered.

" Really my daughter got engaged and all you have to say is fine?"

"Mom it was really great. I met his parents they are really nice people."

My mom nod waiting for me to continue.

"What can I say more?" I asked as I don't know what to say.

"Sis, mom wants to know how the date was not the dinner. Idiot" Anna yelled.

Then I relate a romantic date scene from a movie to my mom and I got to go to my room after giving mom and Anna a goodnight kiss.
