Early in the morning, the runner from the Civil Affairs Bureau had indeed delivered the marriage certificate. Seok Jin held the little red book in his hand and causally flipped it open. He could not help but feel that the two people in the picture were clearly not in harmony. Jungkook was obviously honorable and handsome as always while Seok Jin was disheveled, pale and looked a little worn out and sallow.
Frowning slightly, Seok Jin closed the red book and inhaled. Gazing up towards the golden rays that poured in at him from a certain angle from the window, his beautiful face suddenly broke into a smile.
"What happy thoughts have you been thinking about ? Tell me about it, I want to be cheered up too."
The small red book was suddenly pulled out of his hand as a low and melodious voice slowly brushed past his ear. Seok Jin retrieved his gaze and noticed his husband had already appeared by his bedside with the red book in his hand. Jungkook casually flipped it open to a look at its content before he handed it to Hoseok behind him.
Seok Jin raised his head as he asked, "Don't you have to work ? It's almost time for the morning meeting. Assistant Jung can send me back to my apartment to pick up my stuffs later."
The sun was already up outside, so he knew that it was not early anymore.
Jungkook ran his long slender fingers through the messy curls on Seok Jin's head almost intimately.
As he stood there, he spoke in his usual lowered voice, "Seok Jin, you seem to have forgotten the meaning of the document you signed earlier. If you still don't understand the meaning of a marriage, I don't mind explaining it to you. Marriage is a responsibility and duty built between the two of us together. You are my husband now, taking care of you is a responsibility and a duty that I could never avoid. Can't you be more self-aware ? Can't you demand just a little more from me ?"
Seok Jin, who had been closing his eyes in comfort suddenly looked up in howl after hearing the stern reprimand coming from his husband. He stared blankly and saw the slight afflicted gloominess in Jungkook's eyes. At this moment, Seok Jin could not help but softened his heart.
"I'm sorry..." Seok Jin trailed off.
Jungkook did not say anything but he took the coat drapped over the sofa and then covered Seok Jin with it.
Seok Jin did not want to argue, so he decided to stay quiet.
There were a lot of people in the hospital in the morning time. It was nearly noon when the check-up was done. After lunch, the doctor came over and told Seok Jin that he could go home.
"Be careful that your wound doesn't get into contact with water, and remember to reapply the medicine frequently. Rest well for two weeks and you'll be fine," advised the doctor as she closed the medical records.
"I got it. Thank you, Doctor." Seok Jin thanked her as he proceeded to carefully got out of bed but then almost tripped to the floor due to his shaking legs but was caught swiftly in the next second.
Seok Jin's eyes roamed over the gloomy figure of his husband as he put his foot on the ground with the help of Jungkook.
"Can you walk on your own ?" Jungkook asked in a lowered tone as he hold onto Seok Jin.
"I'm fine," Seok Jin nodded.
The weather was great outside. The warm sun greeted them at the moment they walked out of the hospital. Seok Jin almost could not open his eyes as he squinted them and took a quick glance at the bright sun, suddenly feeling the dark mist in his mind thin out a lot.
After a while, Hoseok drove the car over and stopped beside the couple.
"Get in the car."
Jungkook opened the door and signalled to Seok Jin to get in while he was looking around blankly.
