"Why are you here ?"

Seok Jin looked up at the man and after a long silence, he then lowered his gaze. He turned away, not wanting to let anyone see the dismay and weakness in his eyes that he could not disguise.

Unfortunately, Seok Jin's raspy and tired voice and that pale face of him had already given away the fact that he had been enduring some kind of torture silently. Seok Jin did not know that hidden underneath the calm stillness of the eyes of this man who stood before, was a gaze so sharp that it could almost see through everything.

On the other hand, Jungkook did not answer the earlier question asked by Seok Jin. His silent gaze focused on the bandaged hand. After a quite while, he said in a low voice, "Are you okay ?"

Seok Jin was startled for a moment. He then turned around and looked up at the man, lips parting slightly without his knowledge. Seok Jin wanted to say something, but he couldn't. He just silently accepted the handkerchief and wiped the tears on his face away.

"Do you also think that I'm a sorry figure, very vicious and unreasonable, Mr Jeon ?"

Seok Jin muttered almost inaudible as a bitter smile passed across his exquisitely beautiful features.

Something in Jungkook's dark orbs shifted very quickly. He then shook his head and his gentle voice sounded very sensible, "I've never agreed with the concept of sacrificing to matchmake others. Everyone has the rights to control their own emotions. There's no need to sacrifice yourself for anyone, Mr Kim."

Seok Jin silently retrieved his gaze. He turned to look ahead in the direction where it was already empty, his plain tone holding hints of fatigue, "If it were possible, who'd be willing to sacrifice themselves to matchmake others ?"

Then, Seok Jin lifted up his hand that held that handkerchief. As he took a deep breath, he laughed softly before speaking again, "I don't feel comfortable letting you see me in a mess like this. You've come to my aid quite a few times now. I really don't know how to thank you."

Jungkook took a long, hard look at Seok Jin. The flickering dimness in his eyes seemed to bring an unnamed appeal.

"Your medicine is still in my car."

Jungkook smiled gently as he pointed at the bandaged hand,"The doctor said your hand can't come into contact with water. You'd better change the medication when you get back. I'll have my assistant get them."

Seok Jin took a moment before answering the man. Jungkook seemed to be quite indifferent and was not particularly expressing any emotions.

"Thank you."

Actually, Seok Jin was not comfortable with people being so concerned about him. He was used to the days when no one cared about him, and due to the lack of attention all these years, a tiny gesture of kindness could touch his cold heart easily.

"Don't be too hard on yourself. People need to know how to love themselves."

Jungkook smiled again and this time his eyes appearing full of kindness. However, the way Seok Jin stared at him afterwards, it seemed like he had an odd sense of hollow fibre inside of him that needed to be fulfilled by sooner, or later it would be too late to conquer.

Seok Jin watched the broad back as it started to fade away onto the dim hallway. With the handkerchief still in his hand, Seok Jin wondered if it's still too late to let himself go away.

At the same moment, things were pretty lively inside the Emperor's 808 Luxurious Presidential Suite.
