THIRD PERSON'S POV
"Are you sure that you want to do this?" Ray asked his daughter as she pats down on her dress.
"Dad, chill. I'm sure." Juliana responds. Ray sighed as someone comes up from the tube to the man's nest. This would be Juliana's first time seeing her mom in person instead of talking to her on the phone over the past few weeks, or- really, since she was little. Things over the phone were great, but if Julie was honest, she was nervous. "Great, she's here" Ray mutters.
The brown skinned woman with braided locs, practically identical to Julie, walks in.
"Maeve" Ray says.
"Hey, Raymond" Juliana's mother, Maeve, responds while looking around.
"So? Where's my baby girl?".
"Hi" Juliana appears from behind her dad with a small hand wave. Maeve's eyes widen at the sight of how much her daughter had grown and how much she looked like her. "Jellybean" Mae chuckles as she tried not to cry in that moment. Julie pulled her eyebrows together at the nickname and looks up at her dad with confusion. "That.... that was our nickname for you when you were little" Ray clarified.
"I literally never heard you call me that, like, ever" Juliana said. "That's because you're Jules. It just stuck" Ray told her. "Hmm" Julie hummed before looking back at the woman in their presence. "Should we head out?" Eve asked.
"Oh right! Yeah, totally" Julie nods with the feeling of excitement washing over her.
Maeve pressed her lips together as she seen the slight hint of uncertainty in Ray's face.
"See you later, Dad!" Julie waved as Eve makes way to the tube. "Have fun, alright?" Ray says. "Definitely" Eve and Julie said together causing them to look at each other and laugh. They made their way towards the tube; "Down the tube!".

Walking around the mall with her daughter, Eve suggested that they should stop to get a something to eat. Juliana order a strawberry milkshake that was given before the full order. They eventually found a small table to sit at while the two waited on their order.
"So, Juliana" Eve says, coming up with a slight ice breaker.
"Julie. You can just call me Julie" Juliana said. "-The whole name makes me feel like I'm in trouble" She adds. "Hm. Well, Julie, how's everything?" Eve asked. "You know with Asher, your Dad, school and stuff?" She says. "Things are cool" Julie nods before briefly stating things to Maeve. They could go into all the details another time.
"Uh, Asher lives in dystopia with his friends. Dad runs a school for the gifted and, well, I wouldn't say school is school because I never been to one".
Mae gasped at the information that was given by her daughter and her eyes slightly widened. "You never been to school?!" She questioned.
"Homeschooled!" Julie cleared up, not wanting the women to get the wrong idea. "I've- I've been homeschooled since I was little, but I've been to an actual school-school before" She said. "I should've said that better, huh?" The older woman raised a eyebrow as she and Juliana chuckled."Do you want to go to actual school?" Mae asked, now interested in the current topic.
"I thought about. But I don't think I'll go through with it" Julie shrugs. "Why not?" The woman with locs asked. "I'm not big on change" Julie says. "So, joining a new school and having to make friends isn't something that I want to deal with but it's definitely something I want to experience" She continued. Eve hummed. "That makes sense. Does your dad know?" She asked.
"Kind of. I talked to him about it once and that was it." Juliana says. "He doesn't really like the idea, huh?" Maeve questioned. "Nah" Julie shook her head before she took a sip of her milkshake. Both, the daughter and mother's head risen as the sudden outburst was heard from afar.
"Order for Eve!" The worker called out.

On the way back home, Maeve noticed Juliana staring out the window of her car as she stopped at a red light. "J, you okay?" Julie's mother asked. "Hmm? Nothing. Just thinking" Julie answers as she was ripped out of her thoughts. "About?" Eve asked. "Well, lately, I've been thinking more about why you left" Julie stated.
She turns her head towards the woman and looks at her.
"Why did you leave?".
The light color switches to green and Maeve drives off, going silent for a moment. "You seem old enough to handle the truth" Eve said. "Thanks?" Julie questions the statement. "I was starting college when I first had Asher and my family, oh, they absolutely hated your father," Eve began to explain.
"I couldn't balance my time with college and the pregnancy at the same time, so, I began to start my new life with your father, staying in the man cave as he was fighting crime".
"We had everything. It was great for us until they weren't, and then they were again" She says. "Eventually, you came along; Our precious baby girl" Juliana smiled at the words as Eve poked her shoulder. "But, sadly, your father and I couldn't go back to the way things use to be when we were fully in love, and we decided to go our separate ways" Maeve finished the story as she parks into the parking lot of SWAG.
Mae rests her head against the headrest of the car and looks over at her daughter with a shaky sigh.
"You were only five years old when I left" She told her with slight teary eyes. Juliana nods and fidgets with her bracelet. "I knew that if you guys were together with your dad, you would be living these amazing lives that you are right now" Eve said. "Your father and your uncle, Schwoz, were the only people I knew who would take care of you and your brother in the way you needed them to" She stated.
"And, of course, I know it doesn't change the fact that I wasn't around but I'm here now" Eve says; "I want to be in your life from here on out".
"I want you in my life too"Julie said before she unbuckles her seat belt and wraps her arms around her mother. Taken back for a moment, Maeve soon enough adds her own arms around the girl and smiled. "Let's get you inside, yeah?" Eve said as they let go of the embrace.
"Yeah" Julie agreed.
