Remus decided it would be best to stay away from the majority of the chaos, and so concentrated his attention on helping Peter behind the stage they had set up on the quidditch pitch. The pitch opened up to the night sky and the combination of the stars with the little lights that Marlene and Remus had put up around the pitch looked truly magical. The stage was set up so that it was raised off the ground from the grass, high enough so that everyone below would be able to see them easily. They had set up their instruments as usual on the stage, Peter's drum kit displaying "THE MARAUDERS" in huge lettering on the front.
But there was something different about this time. There was a buzz in the air as the Marauders readied themselves for the upcoming show. A buzz of excitement and anticipation from the milling students that Remus hadn't felt before.
"Alright?" Came a voice from behind him. Remus was about to turn before a familiar pair of hands crept up to his shoulders, resting there as a familiar scent filled the air surrounding them. Sirius leaned up from behind Remus and pressed a kiss on the back of his neck, causing him to shiver as he closed his eyes.
"Yeah." He said as he turned to face Sirius. Sirius looked breathtaking as always. He was in a red leather jacket today, and ripped black jeans, black eyeliner and his old Led Zeppelin t-shirt. "You?"
"Oh absolutely." Sirius allowed his hands to drop from Remus' shoulders. "Jamie's gonna love this."
Remus smiled. "Where is Prongs?" He asked suddenly. He hadn't seen him in a while.
Sirius shrugged. "I saw him about ten minutes ago setting up the drinks table."
Remus nodded, letting out a breath. Sensing his nervousness, he felt Sirius lean his weight softly into Remus' side. "It's gonna be fine, Rem. What could go wrong?"
Remus laughed. "So many things."
Sirius winked. "That just makes it all the more exciting!"
Remus smiled, fondly as he leaned down to brush his lips across Sirius' forehead, but pulled away sharply when someone came hurtling around the corner.
Remus looked up to see James, a grin wide across his face, and his eyes alight with joy.
"Ready boys?" He asked, stopping to stand with his hands on his hips in his now statement double denim.
Peter appeared from somewhere beside him and Remus felt the smile on his face broaden. Truly, what could go wrong?

The Marauders made their way onto the stage to a roar of excitement and approval, and Remus suddenly worried that their protection charms wouldn't be strong enough. There were a lot more people on the pitch than there had been half an hour ago. The grounds were filled with students everywhere. It was like being at a real concert, people teeming with excitement, sitting on people's shoulders, screaming their names, students from all houses decked out in Gryffindor colours or in their seventies flares, leather jackets and black nail polish. When the Marauders wandered about the school corridors, they were popular, respected, loved by all, but when they were on the stage they were celebrities.
James put both hands in the air as if trying to quell the screaming, but this only seemed to encourage it. Remus made his way over to the piano, as usual, as Peter sat behind his drum kit at the back whilst Sirius picked up his electric guitar. He had a red one today that he had borrowed from the Room of Requirement. "To match my jacket" he had explained to Remus the night before when he had given it a questioning look.
