Lucy and Tim, we're so surprised. They didn't expect anyone to do all of this for them. They hadn't told anyone they were getting to come home.
Lucy: How did you know we were coming home? We didn't tell anyone.
Tamara: I didn't; I've been working on this since you went to have Makenzie.
Tim: Well, it looks great. How about I go get us some food?
Tamara: Or....you could call your friends, and they could bring food.
Lucy: I like that idea better. I'm not ready for you to leave me yet.
So, Tim called everyone and told me they were home, and he started a group text so everyone knew who was bringing what. The group came with enough food to last for a few weeks. Lopez had the most uncooked, frozen things that wouldn't go bad and could be fixed easily. Harper had drinks and snacks....lots and lots. Nolan had Lucy's favorite food, even for a few days. Everyone else had just random things they had made or got from the store.
Everyone had their kids, and Tamara helped with the bigger kids so everyone could have a turn with the new baby in their family.
All the kids fell asleep, and everyone talked until late into the night. Tim looked over at Lucy, and she was sleeping.
Tim: Hey, I'm going to go lay Lucy down. She is so tired. I'll be right back.
Tim picked her up, and Lucy woke up when he laid her down.
Tim: It's ok, baby. Go back to sleep. We have the baby; you rest.
Lucy: I love you. Can you lay with me for a few minutes?
Tim: Ok, but then I need to go back out there.
About four hours later, Lopez and Harper came to check on them. They were both fast asleep, so they all stayed and mapped on and off and took turns with the baby and let the new parents sleep. The whole group knew all too well how tired you were the first day you were home with a new baby.

Tim and Lucy woke up to the smell of breakfast and what sounded like 20 kids running through the house. They got up and went to the living room. Everyone had stayed. The husbands had been sent to get clothes, and they were all still sitting around in their PJs. The kids played, Nolan was cooking, and Harper had the baby.
Tim: Sorry about falling asleep and leaving you with the baby, guys. Thank you.
Lucy: Yes, thank you. We were so tired.
Nolan: The first week we were home with Herny, we ate only because someone brought us food. We were doing good to feed Herny and not falling asleep.
Harper: Yeah, we have all been there the first few days your home with a new baby.
Lopez: Besides, our kids were sleeping. Why would we wake them up to deal with them?
Everyone laughed. A few had to go to work, so they left. The rest stayed, and Tim and the boys cooked on the grill and let the kids play in the backyard. Lucy and the girls played with the baby and talked about birth stories.

After Lunch, Lucy got the baby down, and she took a nap too. Their friends went home and said they would be back if they needed them or anything. Tim thanked them and helped them get to kids loaded. By this time, Tamara was at school, and Lucy and the baby were still asleep. Their friends had cleaned the house, so Tim took a shower. He realized he hadn't taken one since the day Lucy went into Labor.
When Tim got out of the shower, the girls were still sleeping. He checked on Lucy and looked at her, and thought, "I am going to marry this wonderful woman, the mother of my beautiful little girl." He still could not believe he was the father to a little girl. He loved her so much. Tim went over to where Makenzie was sleeping and watched her sleep for a few minutes.
Tim went to the living room and turned on the tv. He sat and looked up rings for Lucy. He had already been saving for a ring before they found out Lucy was pregnant. They had talked about it while she was pregnant, and she told him that she wanted to wait until the baby was here. After he ordered the ring, he sat and watched tv until he heard his daughter cry. He went to get her, but Lucy was already up and had her.
Lucy: She needs to eat, and so do I. If you fix me something, I'll feed and change her.
Tim: Sounds like a plan. (As he walks over and kisses her).
Lucy got a diaper and wipes and changed her daughter's diaper. She threw it away, and she had to potty, but little Makenzie couldn't wait, so Lucy breastfed her right there in the bathroom. When it was time to burp, Lucy called for Tim, and he burped her so Lucy could clean up and wash her hands. Tim returned to cooking, and Lucy sat on the couch to finish feeding their daughter.
Tim finished cooking, and Lucy finished feeding the baby.
Tim: Let me hold her, and you eat.
Lucy: Are you sure?
Tim: Of course! You just feed our daughter with your body. You need to eat and drink something, or your milk might dry up.
Lucy: Someone has been researching online.
Tim: Yes, I did because I can't feed her, but I can support you.
Lucy: Ok. (As she handed Makenzie to her daddy).

*Autor note: I just realized that I said she slept all night, and their friends feed the baby. Let's just say Lucy only woke up to feed the baby, and her friend told her to go back to bed, and she was pumping. Thank you. This is my first writing of mine that I had posted for someone that wasn't grading me to see.*
