Shadow POV

I walked around town, trying to calm my nerves a little bit. Think all these things through. All these things that are going on is just making me stressed and angry - mostly the anger. I just need some time to be by myself, but surrounds by people, if that makes since. Be in a world full of noise, but be the only thing in silence.

I walked around the streets and saw crowds talking. Crowds laughing. Crowds walking into shops and restaurant. I also see the loners. Ones who are either rushing to go to work or see other people or to be like me. Alone but not quite.

That doesn't change the emptiness I fell. That group I call friends - maybe family- always had that pink hedgehog around. She'd always be the one who would try to cheer everyone up. She might not be as quiet as cream, but that's just the way he is. She would always come up with surprises for everyone, some that I would pretend I hate and think are annoying, but secretly enjoy them. If the group was down, she was there.

But she's not this time.

No. scourge has her. That coward.

Why on earth would he take her? what are his reason for takin the most cheerful person in the group. For snatching the one who always brings us hope.

The one who gave me these feelings.

Why now, out of anytime. I was confused and wasn't sure how I felt about rose yet. So close, but too late. He snatched we away from me before I could completely realize.

I realized my fists were clenched, and I probably had an angry expression on my face, and I do t think my gimping is helping anyone. To be honest, it seems people are slowly backing away from me now, but trying to make it in noticeable. Considerate, but not considerate enough. But the thing they felt now was fear.

I also feel that way. What sort of thing is that green hedgehog doing to my rosé. My Amelia Rosé.

I calmed my body language, and continued walking. I stopped at the corner of the street. I looked at the cafe me and Amy ate last.

I told her I would walk her to her house to protect her. What good of a job I did.

I walked inside, and seated myself. I sat at the booth that Amy and I sat in. I even sat in the same spot. I stared were rose was sitting, but I only felt worse.

But I will get her back. Tails said wait three days. Tomorrow'd the third.

Soon, a squirrel waitress came and held up her little notepad with one hand, and giving me a menu with the other. She took the pen out from the cool of the notepad, and held it in a writing position. "What would you like to drink this fine morning, sir?"

I glanced Dow at the menu, flipping it over to look at the drinks. All a bunch of sodas and coffee, but I didn't want any of that.

"Just a water." I said.

"Would you like I've with that?" the squirrel asked.

"I doesn't matter," I replied.

"Alright, I'll be back with your drinks." An with that, she skittered off to the kitchen to make my drink. I looked at the menu at all of the foods.

To be honest, I wasn't hungry at all. Didn't have any appetite. How could I?

Soon the squirrel came back with me drink. "I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you my name. I'm Sally, and I'll be taking you order for today."

Sally. Why did that sound so familiar? and the fact that she's a squirrel. "Is this your first day?" I asked.

"Well, no. Actually my second week. I've just been filling in for a missing employee."

That's right. Amy worked here. So that's how we got a discount on our meal.

"What would you like to eat?" Sally asked.

"Nothing," I answered. "I'm fine."

Sally now had sympathy in her eyes, and dropped he arms. "You clearly are not." She sat in "Amy's", and asked, "What's the matter?"

I shook my head, and said, "Nothing you would understand."

"Are you sure? I believe in a lot of things, ask anyone who knows me."

"Someone I know has been kidnapped, and I failed trying to get her back. The guy I'm against has an army of robots, and is really powerful. He got a house so big, it's like a maze, so I can't just exactly find her and take her away."

"I believe you." Sally said.

"You do?"

"Yep. Years ago, I used to go up against things like that, but that was long ago. A couple years, actually."

"Oh," I responded.

"Speaking of, do you happen to know Sonic the hedgehog? I mean, of coarse you've probably heard of him, but so you know him in person? Ive been trying to look for him."

"What, are you a fan or something?"

"Ex girlfriend." (A/N I know they married, but I'm leaving it as girlfriend)

"Girlfriend?" asked Shadow, a little shocked.

"Ex. He'd get mad if anyone misunderstood, and blame it on me."

"That sounds like faker."

"Faker?" she asked.

"A nickname."

"Oh."

"Yep."

"So... you know where he is?" I nodded my head, and took a sup I my water. "Great! Can you take me to him? It'd have to be until I'm done with work thought."

"Sure." I answered.

"Thank you so much! you have no idea how much this means to me."

She then went back to her job.

Instead if cheering me up, she was the one who ended up happy. Seems like that's how it's been for a while now.
