Izuku was known to overwork, pouring into his heroism every day strongly without fail, coming home worn and tired. Exhausted. But there were days, Katsuki's favorite days, where Izuku would be stuck at home doing paperwork from long winded cases or he'd be compiling evidence for a new mission. Nonetheless, he'd be cooped up in the apartment.

These were the only days Katsuki was able to come home to him first, not the other way around. Words can not describe the rush of relief that rains through him at opening the door and seeing him there. Today, he was draped out on his back on the couch in the living room across the hall of the entrance, his large bulky frame far too big for the narrow space that his legs were thrown up over the back of the surface and his arm tucked behind his head to pillow himself comfortably. In just simple athletic black shorts and a stupid shirt saying 'home shirt', Izuku was the finest goddamned thing he'd ever laid eyes on all day. Everything in his body just oozes, all the stress just crackles and he finds himself doing what he does everytime Izuku is home first.

He drops his bag holding his cleaned hero outfit, haphazardly kicks off his combat boots in a rush and runs to sit with him. Hold him. Hug him.

Looking up for a moment, the glasses on Izuku's nose slope down slightly as he looks over the thin circled, gold wire rims. He's holding a paper, thick with tiny lines of confidential information, and he had been lost in thought but that signature puppy dog look rains over his face when he sees the blonde.

Who is running at him?

Who is diving at him.

Who is-

Izuku grunted as Katsuki threw himself into his arms, causing the couch to gently rock back against the wall before righting itself. His arms rapidly wrapped around him, one instantaneously at the back of his head for protection as he chuckled, throwing the stapled stack of papers somewhere randomly so both hands were free. "Hey, baby."

"You fucking 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘬, why didn't you tell me." Katsuki was muffled, his entire weight and muscle mass melting onto Izuku. He slotted his frame between those thick tree trunk thighs, face planting into Izuku's abdomen, his cheek smushing and nose scrunching, head rubbing up and down against his scarred hand like a needy cat.

"Surprise, surprise?" Izuku tried to play it off, scratching beneath his jaw only to be bitten right on the abs. "Ow! Okay, okay!" He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "I got sent home because the mission finished early, no bad injuries on me, promise. I got distracted reading up on the case file for the undercover one I need to take next week as per the agency's request. I just got back a bit earlier. Didn't wanna bother you at work."

Katsuki only grunted, hitching his leg up further so his knee rested on the couch, slithering up Izuku's body so his face could more suitably rest against the crook of his neck, nosing at his jaw only to scrunch at the feeling of stubble.

Izuku chuckled, a deep sound that rumbled from his chest as he rubbed faintly up and down his partner's back, taking off his reading glasses with his free hand and letting the sides click to a close before letting them clatter on the side table. He sighed, stretching out happily, unaffected by Katsuki pressing down over him and practically constricting his airways. "I thought I'd wait up for you and catch you before you cook, take you out for dinner?"

"Mmn."

"Maybe watch a movie?"

"Mn."

Izuku's lips curved into a tiny smile as he whispered, tilting his head inward to brush a kiss behind Katsuki's ear. "Take a nap?"

"Oh, god yes, please."

"That would've sounded awfully lewd in another t- Ow!" Another bite, this time to the shoulder, hard and mean and meant to hurt but only making Izuku laugh harder. "Jeez, sweetheart, they took it out on you today? You look..exhausted."

He was more serious now, skimming his thumb beneath one of Katsuki's eyes, over the eyebags and smeared eyeliner.

"Missed you, you know I can't sleep without your fucking shitty nerd brickhouse of a body and those messed up hands. You should be home more." He closed his eyes, earning a kiss beneath each one.

"I know, princess." Izuku whispered, kissing his top then bottom lip, trailing down his chin.

He knew but he couldn't make up for it. He knew but he couldn't stop. As the top hero there was nothing much he could do, he had his priorities elsewhere to keep up with the everyday demand of villains erupting from the cracks.

"Don't call me that." Katsuki mumbles, like he does every time, chasing his lips, only to groan when he kisses directly at the side of his throat, open mouthed and hot, teeth dragging across the veins.

"But that's what you are to me." He whispered, hands sliding over Katsuki's sides, feeling the pure hard muscle of his abs. He felt the goosebumps eliciting over pale skin soon after at the featherlight graze of rough calloused palms and lips brushing over his neck as he spoke. "My love. My Kacchan."

Katsuki's laughter came in a husk, all low in his throat and airy. His eyes closed, lashes fluttering as that hand trailed up the line of his spine, pressing heavier at his shoulder blades. Crooked fingers rubbed the back of his neck and the minute he began to unknot the unruly spikes of his hair, he went lax.

"I think we'll take that nap, then." Izuku murmured, pressing more kisses over him, behind his ear, jaw or his angular cheekbones, affectionate but still as heated with the passion beneath them. "We deserve rest. Paperwork can wait."

And it did wait, for the three hours they spent spread out on the couch plastered together for warmth. Izuku hadn't minded one bit that Katsuki weighed down his chest, how his knees dug into his calves and made his legs go numb. He hadn't minded how Katsuki pressed to his neck, warm cheek to the hollow of his neck, nose pressing to his adams apple and somewhat restricted his breathing. He hadn't even minded when they awoke late and would regret messing up their sleep schedules for the next day. Because he needed this.

Katsuki needed him here, needed to rest, needed him. And he needed Katsuki. He felt at ease there, with the blonde rising and falling on his chest with every breath. With Katsuki's hands warming on his stomach, having also hiked beneath his shirt for more skin contact. With their bodies both going numb and relaxed, slotted against each other like that of a puzzle piece, perfectly.

Neither could truly rest without the other, for they brought each other peace just with their presence alone.
