Today, I'm going to take full charge of my life—

and that of the part-timer at this convenience store across Daijou Bookstore, if she does not allow me access to the CCTV camera outside the store.

“What is it for?” She asked monotonously.

“I’m looking for someone.”

“What sort of person?”

“The love of my life.”

She pursed her lips and, not being able to help it, laughed. When she did, it kind of distorted her face.

Our brain is the command center so it would make sense that our facial expressions and the placement of our facial features would reflect the kind of things we think about. Physiognomy.

Though it doesn't necessarily mean that she's a bad person.

“Sure. Let's look for your crush.”

Just an unlawful one.

“I don't know what he looks like,” I admitted. “But I'll be able to tell right away when I see him.”

“How?”

“I'd feel it.”

She grimaced and muttered to herself. “My fault for asking.”

Without permission, I went around the counter and stood closer to the monitor to have a better view of the screen. “Just the footages from yesterday. From 10 when the bookstore opened to 3 when it closed. Five hours. It's not that much. You don't have any customers anyway.”

She clicked her tongue twice. “But I have to sort some boxes of juice packets.”

“I'll do it.”

“Nice.”

It wasn't difficult to find him, after all. He was the only person who dropped a letter in the box. The rest were from the store's staff and mine.

“That looks a lot like Haoran,” the part-timer chuckled. “Is he the one you're looking for?”

“You know him? What's his surname?”

“It's Xu.”

“Then, it's him,” I nodded, suddenly feeling as if my muscles were degenerating.

“Go sort the boxes at the back.”

Riko thought she heard voices talking inside the store. Finally, a customer?

The boxes were hella heavy and there were tons of it to pile on the corner.

For love. She'll do labor for the sake of love. So what if she hasn't seen him? She can love unreasonably now that she's running out of time.

She thought she heard some fumbling and then Ting's voice saying she's going out. Not a customer then if she's leaving the counter unattended.

An emergency?

She sighed and walked towards the door to check on the current situation but somebody had twisted the knob open before she could reach it.

“Let me take care of the boxes. New part-timer?”
