Before I could answer, he rushed out of the apartment with his head down.
"Hurry up before he wakes up," he shouted behind his shoulder.
I followed suit.
After buying a few drinks at the nearby convenience store, we sat by the riverside overlooking Central. He already asked Ting to cover his shift so we could watch the city lights the whole night.
I should have thought this through.
I only have a month left before my time is up with the madam.
When I said I was going to find someone to love, I should have just been satisfied with doing it from afar. Reading his letters to Kafka, only asking about him through Ting.
I'm only going to remain for a short while. And when I go...
“Do you think you have to be with someone for a long time to prove that your feelings are real?”The can made a fizz sound as he opened it. “We don't have much time in this world. If we weren't so afraid to realize this, do you think more people would surrender to love without thinking much about it? If you feel the same, just do what you want without considering anything else. I'll do the same.”
I did not know it would be this maddening.
How could he shine brighter than the city lights? Right now, he pretty much has me blinded.
“I have to take care of something first."
