Dear Mere

chapter 7

After practice was over, Jesse picked me up in his SUV and we headed to his house.During the ride we just chatted and played some funny games.

"So you know there's this new coffe place their opening up around our street"

"oh yeah isn't it gonna called cocoa's coffee cafe"? They were finishing up wth the new building and I actually wanted to check it out sometime.

"So if your not busy Saturday afternoon I was wondering if you wanted to come with me for some coffee?"He sounded really nervous when he asked,I had always wondered what he was thinking under that sea of curly brown hair,and what he saw in me through his hazel eyes.

"Sure i'll come with you, what time?" I asked.

"Lets say at 5:00 is that time good"? He said

"Sure that's perfect"! After that we finally made it to his house, Judging from the empty driveway, no one was home.

"Your parents aren't home"? I asked nervously

"No my parents travel a lot but its okay"! He seemed sad at first but had his same expression in fast.We both went out of the car and into his house, and if I remembered right the theater was on the third floor, as we both headed there we walked into the room and sat down.Then he started playing the movie.

Then all of a sudden he brought a big blanket over to me and spread it on me.

"It gets kind of cold in here so I thought you might want a blanket",

"Oh yeah" Now that I think about it was getting a little colder in here, so I let him lay the blanket on me. But I was shocked to see him walk away after that so I called out to him against my own will.

"Wait Jesse, your not getting under the blanket?" I had to ask because I felt bad that I was the only one using the blanket.

"Wait are okay with that " , he asked in question.

"Yeah come on" brfore I knew I had opened the blanket up and Jesse was sliding right in. I inhaled his scent, he smelled like cinammon and chocolate, I couldnt believe how warm he felt. I almost felt as if we were cuddling.

"Hey Mere?, remember how when we were kids we would both cuddle up on one blanket and fall asleep"?

"Oh yeah I remember that, your mom would usully tease us about it when we would wake up" I laughed at the old memory.

"You know Mere I'm really sorry about your moms death" At the mention of mom I turned my head back to the TV.

"Sorry to mention that, if you ever want to talk to someone about it I'm always here" saying that I just wanted to tell him everything.

"You would actually want to listen to me?" I said in question.He nodded so I started talking about everything.How on me and Ryans birthday the cops had came and told us that our mom was dead do to the storm that had happened.How. everyone always said I looked just like her with my long black hair and green eyes but to me my mom was a godess.Before I knew it I was crying.

"Its alright i'm here" Jesse rubbed small circles on my back as he pulled me in for a hug, and I was crying on his shoulder. I could hear the movie ending in the background.We stayed like that for a while and before I knew it we were both asleep.

When I woke up again I looked at the time on my phone and it read 2:00 a.m.

"Oh my god !" I screamed and realized two things that I was past my curfew and Ryan was probably about to blow up, and that Jesse was asleep right next to me asleep.Jesse looked so innocent while he was asleep with his chin on my head and me lying on his chest.But this wasnt the time for that. I shook Jesse awake.

"Hmm!!, oh Mere what is it" he asked.

"Look at the time" When he did he looked shocked.

"Oh shit!!", he leapt from the couch. We quickly hurried to his car and drove to my house.

"Mere I'm really sorry about this " I was shocked to hear him apologize.

"what are you talking about its not your fault we just fell asleep".We finally reached the driveway of my house just in time to see Ryan geting into his car.And he looked so mad.As we both got out of the car, I could see Ryan exiting out of his car and coming over to us.From the looks of it it looked like he was ready to blow up and start yelling.

"Ryan I-.." I began to say quietly.

"Save it " He walked over to me .

"where have you been your almost three hours late from curfew, Do you know how worried I was"

" Listen man its my fault we fell asleep and I forgot to wake her up" I couldnt believe what I was hearing, Jesse was taking the full blame.As Ryan walked toward Jesse I knew what was coming so hurriedly raced in front of Ryan and blocked Ryan from Jesse. Even though Jesse and Ryan were the same height and  were both best friends , Ryan always got into fights when he gets mad or worried and it's usually my fault."Meredith move out of the way " Ryan said calmly

"No!" I said

"Sigh" I could hear Ryan calm down

"Just lets go back inside" He finally said after the long silence.

I turned around to Jesse.

"Sorry about tonight, I didnt mean to end it like this" He sounded like he felt really bad about what happened.

"Jesse its not your fault, hey are we still on for Saturday?"

"Yeah, its a date!" At his words i blushed,  As he left I waved to him and I got a smile back as I watched him drive away I had forgotten that Ryan was still there so when I turned around Ryan was already pulling me away. "After tonight your not going anywhere". 

"But Ryan you can't do that". I said to him but he wasn't paying attention." Mere you know I don't like doing this but your not going, you broke your promise and you never break your promises."

"BUT RYAN-!" I yelled at him.

MEREDITH MARIEJANE EVERGREEN, I SAID NO!" I whimpered at his words and unknowingly started shaking. Seeing this he stopped because he knew what would happen next but before he could say anything I had already ran to the house.

" I HATE YOU"! I yelled but I soon immediately regretted it. 

"WAIT MERE"! He yelled but I ignored him and kept running.When made it to my room I locked my door and cried myself to sleep.
