Chapter 4

Stepping through the doors of my house I noticed there was some one else here,and from the looks of it it was a man.

"Ryan,Meredith come in here I need to talk to you" for the first time in months he sounded normal,meaning this was important. He would only use his polite voice to us instead of yelling if we had a guest.

"Mere, i'll patch up your bruise in your room later okay?"

"Alright, come on lets go to the kitchen before dad loses his temper on both of us".Passing the veranda on the third floor we noticed there was some luggage,

finally on the fourth floor dining room we sat down in front of dad and an old man.

"kids I have something really important to tell you, but first let me introduce you to Mr.Beckenford, Mr.Beckenford my oldest son Ryan and my daughter Meredith.After we exchanged hellos, dad shared with us some shocking and exciting news.

"kids I have been given a wonderful opportunity to be able to go on a business trip to Europe and my business partner Mr.Beckenford will be coming with me on the trip for business.

"Ryan since you are 18 years old I'm leaving you to take care of your sister I'll probably be gone for about 8 months.I have refilled up both of your bank accounts with the exact same amount of $20,000 each and that it should cover up food and clothes you might need,we are leaving tonight to be exact, kids do you have any questions?"

I was speechless I was so happy for my cruel dad to be gone for the rest of the school year and half the summer I was so exited.When dads friend left. he brought us over to the veranda where we had seen all the luggage, sat us down and told us the rules for while he was gone:

No parties

everywhere has to stay clean

we clean

the maids and everyone who works here get that time off

no boys over (he looked over at me )

that was it and just like that he left, we waited 15min to double check and make sure he was gone. when we saw his car pull out the drive way I saw Ryan smile.

"Well I think Im going to enjoy this school year and summer,oh yeah let me see your bruise" getting the first aid kit he patched it up and told me to go to sleep after dinner, and he didn't have to tell me twice
