7 days of winter solstice: day 4: the elements (3)"Alan, I think we need to let the lightning hit us-What? Are you crazy? I would die-let me finish. We need to let it hit us, then redirect it out of our bodies. Remember when we got the talk about how we are nothing but mere directors of fire and not owners? Well this is the same thing, and I think the separation of the Yin and Yang talk is related to that, I need to separate the empty Yin and Yang ponds inside of me, to let the lighting embody them for a while, then come out, just like how Pha used to do....The Yin and Yang pondsThe Yin and Yang ponds are two halves of a circle that exist within a spirit, on the spirit's left side is the Yin pond, an all black half with a small dot of white, and on the right is the Yang pond, an all white half with a small point of black.The ancient fireshifters have been able to learn how to redirect lightning, by allowing it to enter the spirit through the Yin pond, because lightning holds wrath and spite, from the Yin pond it will travel from the darkness to the small white point, and teleport from there to the Yang pond, there it will get pacified and become zen, and exit the body and spirit with ease. If both halves are conjoined in the spirit, the lightning will ooze out and strike the spirit and the body, and end it. In order for the redirection to work, the halves need to be connected but not conjoined...
Velta had both halves of her greatly separated, so it didn't come as a surprise that Alan was able to easily redirect the lightning upwards, right back at the clouds breaking tthem and ending the storm. Alan went down into the chamber, he was taking a risk this time, he didn't ask any shifter of air for prier teaching, he only knew what he was able to do a little while back."Oya-Velta, and her temporary body.-we came here seeking knowledge about the air element-air is the element of freedom, and life, alongside water. Airshifters have lived a zen life since the time they came around. To move air, you have to feel free, as air is free from all worldly setbacks, air isn't limited by any space, or by gravity, you have to detach the body from all of its limitations that are constantly suffocating it. Air is the only element that's directly connected to the soul, besides the fifth element, usually the body is the gateway through which the soul performs magic, but with airshifting, it is directly made by the soul, no need for a body for it. You need to remember this when the test comes, let the soul do the work, so do not help it, the elements wants to see you. And with this last advice I leave you, free your body, just like how you freed your soul, I know it's hard, but do try".The volcano's top formed a cone and closed on him, from the top of the cone a tornado emerged, and it sucked Alan in and started spinning him around viciously, he tried shifting it but it only made things worse"Alan, close your eyes, try to detach from this place, not detach me from it, but yourself" Velta said.Alan closed his eyes and started focusing on being elsewhere, and before he knew it, the volcano had no effect on him anymore, he was standing in the middle of it but it wasn't spinning him around, as if he became invincible, he was able to go through the volcano's wall and exit peacefully. He reached the peak of airshifting rather quick"We need to head to the final volcano quick, only three days are left until the day of the solstice, we need to acquire knowledge from the water element
-I just noticed that the air guy who first explained ho volcano tests work did it wrong, only the earth volcano tested us before and after talking to the balancer, all of the rest tested us afterwards, which makes sense, they offered us wisdom no mortal could ever offer us, so we need to be tested to see if their words clicked in us or not, if so we'll lass the test, as we did, if not then we won't"
..."The water volcano"The water volcano looked different to the rest, first of all the words "water" and "volcano" were extremely contradictory, and the volcano wasn't like any other, it was covered from top to bottom in vines and plants, unlike the other volcanos who were typically too hot for most life to be able to exist and when Alan tried floating to the top, a vine sprung up and slapped him back to the ground, the vines were doing their very best not to let anyone reach the top"Why are vines protecting the water volcano? What does water has to do with vi..oh, it makes sense, there's water inside the vines"Alan tried focusing on feeling the water inside the vines in order to learn how to manipulate them, he was able to barely move them, but not enough to protect himself from them. They kept knocking him down every time he tried to go up. Eventually he go so frustrated he blasted the whole ground with blazing hot fire and burned everything surrounding him to oblivion. He was able to get a few steps in before they regrew and got him down"I HAVE THE POWER OF THREE ELEMENTS WITH ME, I WILL PASS THROUGH"Alan levitated up and created an air sphere around himself. He surrounded it with a thick fire sphere and had rock spikes all around him moving in the air, every time a vine attacked him it got burned by the fire sphere then cut by the spikes. When he reached the top the plants stopped attacking, and he was able to go down the volcano to the chamber of the balancer. Before he did, he observed the sight; lava and water inside the volcano, coexisting without destroynig each other, they're both in the liquid state, they seem to be together but with no interaction with one another."Yemoja-Velta -I have to say, it was an absolute pain trying to get to you-trust me, it will be a bigger pain trying to get out.-how so?-you will find out. As water is the most abundant element on AZ, it is the most regulated out of the shifted elements, well, the second most, after the fifth element. Water is the element of life, nothing with a consciousness can exist without water. Water is the element of balance, watershifters across generations have learned how to find a balance between their soul and body, and how to never use one too much or misuse it, and they have also learned not to abuse their powers, because water can be dangerous"
