Chapter Eleven

Nathan sits next to Hermione waiting for Fred and George to join them, they walk over and stop behind Harry and Ron "Well done, Wood told us. We're on the team too, Beaters." George tells Harry. "I tell you, we're going to win that Quidditch cup for sure this year. We haven't won since Charlie left, but this year's team is going to be brilliant. You must be good, Harry, Wood was almost skipping when he told us." Fred adds. "Anyway, we've got to go, Lee Jordan reckons he's found a new secret passageway out of the school." George tells them. "Bet it's that one behind the statue of Gregory the Smarmy that we found in our first week. See you." Fred smiles, the two of them stopping behind Nathan "Coming Nath?" they ask. "Yep, s-see you l-later Mione." Nathan responds, getting up and following the twins with Valour. "I'm telling you, it's going to be the statue." Fred says. "Most likely." George agrees. "H-How do you kn-know about all the p-passages?" Nathan asks. "We'll show you later." Fred tells him. "It's the secret to our success." George smiles. Nathan nods and continues following them to where Lee is waiting for the three, four including Valour, of them.

Later that day, Nathan sits with the twins in one of the secret passageways they have shown him "So y-you going to t-tell me how you kn-know now?" he asks. Fred grins and pulls out an old piece of parchment, opening it as George pulls out his wand "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." George says, tapping the parchment with the end of his wand. "M-Messrs Moony, Wormtail, P-Padfoot and Prongs are pr-round to present th-the Marauders Map." Nathan reads. "This map shows where everyone is in the castle, along with every secret passageway." Fred explains. "I recognise th-the names." Nathan frowns. "You do?" George asks, getting a nod in response. "I-It's like a fuzzy mem-memory." Nathan explains. "Maybe you'll remember later. Anyway, you want to help us prank the Slytherins?" Fred asks. Nathan grins "Wh-What's the plan?" he asks. "We're going to sneak into the kitchens and put a spell on their plates and goblets so that they attack them at dinner." George responds. "Wh-What do you n-need me to d-do?" Nathan asks. "Watch the map and tell us if someone is heading in the direction on the kitchen." Fred smiles. Nathan nods and follows the twins out of the passageway and in the direction of the kitchen, Valour walking alongside him.

Nathan sits at a table, eating a sandwich as he watches the map "Anything?" Fred calls over. "Nope m-most of the t-teacher's are either in th-the staff room o-or their office, Filch is on the f-fourth floor." Nathan responds. "And, done." George says, finishing the spell. Nathan smiles and gives Valour the last bite of his sandwich "Th-Thank you for th-the sandwich Biddy." he tells the House Elf that gave him his sandwich. "You're welcome Master Nathan." Biddy smiles, giving him a bow. Nathan points his wand at the map "M-Mischeif Managed." he says, folding it back up and passing it to Fred as he picks up Valour's lead. "Ready?" George asks. "Yep." Nathan smiles, the three of them leaving the kitchen and heading outside. Nathan takes Valour off his lead and pulls out a ball, throwing it for the dog "You going back for Christmas?" Fred asks. "Yeah, it'll b-be the first one I h-have with my Un-Uncle since I w-was four." Nathan nods. Valour runs over with the ball in his mouth, Nathan smiling and throwing it for him again "You never said why you weren't with your Uncle before. You don't have to tell us through if you don't want to." George says. Nathan shakes his head "I-It's alright. When my m-mum was killed my Un-Uncle wasn't given custody to st-start, I ran a-away from the c-care system before he did. I l-lived on the st-streets for s-six years before he f-found me." he explains. The twins smile slightly "You're with him now and that's what matters." Fred tells him, George nodding in agreement.
