Nathan sits on the sofa as his Uncle passes him a letter from St. Mungos "I don't get what it's saying." Nathan says after reading it. "Because of what happened when you were younger, seeing what happened to your mother, you have some memory problems. You can easily forget short term memory things, such as some conversations you've had, or information you've just learnt." Remus explains. Nathan nods "Okay, so I'm forgetful because of what happened to mum when I was little?" he asks, making sure he understands. "Yes, now, enough with that. Let's open these presents." Remus smiles, passing Nathan his pile of presents. Nathan grins and opens his presents from Remus first, finding a photo album full of picture of him and his mother along with some muggle books "They were your mother's books, some of her favourites." Remus explains. "Thank you Uncle Remus." Nathan smiles. Opening the rest of his presents, Nathan gets prank stuff from twins, candy from Lee, jumper and fudge from Mrs Weasley, chocolate from Ron, muggle books from Hermione, sweets from Harry and some potions books from Severus. Smiling, Nathan makes a pile next to him before pulling on the jumper from Mrs Weasley "Okay, lunch will be ready in about half hour. Why don't you read or something until then?" Remus suggests. Nathan nods "Okay, you sure you don't need help?" He asks. "No, you need rest. You heard what the healers said." Remus tells him, making him nod in response.
Soon enough the Christmas holidays come to an end, Nathan heading back to Hogwarts "You need anything you tell Severus or send me a letter, okay?" Remus tells him. "I know, I'll be fine. I'll see you soon." Nathan says. Remus nods and hugs him for the fifth time "I know, I just worry." he tells him. "You don't need to, I'm alright." Nathan assures him. Remus nods "Okay. Valour, look after him." he tells the dog. Valour barks, nuzzling into Remus' leg "Good boy." Remus tells him. Nathan smiles and hugs his Uncle as the train whistle blows, Remus kissing the top of his head "See you in a couple weeks." he tells him quietly. "See you in a couple weeks." Nathan nods, running to the train with Valour by his side. Climbing aboard, Nathan waves out the window at his Uncle as the train leaves the station. Walking down the corridor, Nathan smiles when he sees Hermione in a carriage "Hey, Mione." he greets. "Hi Nate, you want to sit?" Hermione asks. Nathan smiles and nods, walking in and sitting opposite Hermione. Hermione smiles and pets Valour as he nudges her leg "You have a good Christmas?" she asks. "It was interesting. Thank you for my books." Nathan tells her. "You're welcome. Thanks for the books on Wizard traditions. It's interesting to see how the wizard world celebrates the same things as muggles but differently." Hermione smiles.
Walking into the castle, Nathan is immediately engulfed into a group hug by the twins "Miss me?" he asks as he laughs. "What gives to that idea?" they asks him with a laugh. Nathan grins as they pull away, the twins giving Valour a fuss "You have a good Christmas with Ron, Percy and Harry?" Nathan asks as they head up to the common room, Fred levitating his trunk from him. "Yeah, thanks for the book on muggle pranks." Fred smiles. "We've already tried a couple on Percy." George nods with a grin. Nathan grins "Want to try some on Filch later?" he asks. "We've trained you so well." Fred tells him, George nodding in agreement. The three of them walk into the Common Room, Ron and Harry walking over "Hey Nathan." Harry greets. "H-Hey Harry, Ron." Nathan smiles. "Good Christmas?" Ron asks. "I-It was interesting." Nathan nods. "Come on, let's go put your trunk upstairs before dinner." Fred tells him. Nathan smiles and nods, waving at Harry and Ron as he follows the twins up to the dorm room.
