" I had so much fun today ky" Preston said to me as he danced in his seat at Ruth Chris. We had just gotten back from the park near his school. It's been a month since Desires dinner party and me and kori gotten close we were best friends you could say she told me everything I told her everything she was someone I could vent to without being judged. She knew about my past about my jail experience and she listened never cut me off as I vented about my time away.
When she called me and ask can I pick up Preston I said sure not seeing my young boy in a couple of days since he started after school but today was a half day and she had a last min client then she was gonna meet us here. She texted me that she was in a Uber so we didn't have to take two cars.
" I'm happy you did at long as your good in school I'll give you anything you want with reasoning" I told him as he nodded smiling before picking up the menu making me shake my head.
He wasn't a bad kid I just realized he was a lot like me acting out for attention " black is that you" I heard from above me making me look up from my menu facing the lani girl I met a few weeks ago.
" oh wassup" I greeted her confused on why she was standing in front of me until I seen the tablet in her hand and her uniform.
" oh nothing much I called you the other day you but you never called me back " she said pouting
" oh my bad I've been busy" I told her as she smiled blinking her eyes " umm miss you gonna take my order or" Preston said cutting off whatever she was gonna say making me laugh a little this nigga was rude.
" oh sorry oh I didn't know you had a son" lani said causing me to nod my head not correcting her" hi cutie" she said to Preston who glared at her causing her eyes to widen and me to shake my head
" so I was thinking maybe if your fre.." she was cut off by Preston voice " mommy finally" making me look over seeing kori walk up her heels clicked on the floor I glanced at her white painted toes she had pretty feet not a corn in site.
"Sorry I'm late" she said as Preston moved over so she can slide in the booth then she glanced over at me then at lani
"Oh y'all ordering already" kori asked oblivious to what was going on but you can count on Preston bad ass every time " no cause she keep tryna talk to him" he said making me cover my mouth to hide my laugh I noticed kori go red in the face and lani to look embarrassed but angry .
" excuse me little Nigga stay in a child's place" lani pressed making kori stand up real fast
" Preston cover your ears" she said to him as he listened to his mother then she slammed her hand on the table " look bitch don't ever in your bum ass life talk to my damn child like your crazy if you wanna talk to black then go right the fuck ahead but don't talk crazy bitch I'll drag you all through this damn restaurant " kori said calmly too calmly she wasn't loud or anything making me realize she was serious. If you seen how innocent she looked you wouldn't even believe it but then again Que and ley were calling her Tyson.
" now I would like another waitress to take our order cause simply I feel like your gonna spit in my food" kori said waving lani away who looked ready to cry as she rushed off then kori sat down and glanced at me.
