CHAPTER 2

The sounds from the punch bag she was hitting depraved her from hearing the approaching footsteps of her father.

Training in the gym was one of her favourite morning routines aside meditation and other sports.
She sometimes trained alone or sparred with some of her dad's men.

The sun shone brightly from the sky that very morning .
Birds chirped from trees around the mansion.
And if you paid close attention, you could hear tires screeching and blaring horns of vehicles from a distance.

"Ha Ha"
Laura sent two quick jabs into the punch bag. She ducked a little to the left and sent a few more punches into it making the bag swirl around.

Her father stood in the door way with his arms across his chest admiring his daughter as she trained.
After a brief moment of administration, he interrupted her training.

"Might as well take it easy on the poor bag my child ".

"Dad!!"

"What are you doing!!?. I could've killed you !" She exclaimed closing her eyes immediately she heard his voice.

"My bad Laura " He apologised
"I sometimes forget how deadly you can be sometimes but just so you know it will take more than just a single stare to take down your old man". He continued.

Mr Friday was in his middle age now but he still looked quite strong and indeed he could take care of himself should the need be.

"Don't make funny jokes like that Dad" she replied still with her eyes closed .

The punch bag came to a halt now.

"I thought you would have your blindfold on as always just as I instructed " Mr Friday said warmly with a look of concern as he walked towards his daughter.

"Yeah I know Dad but girl's gotta see once in awhile. I'm not blind you know" she replied with her face downwards.

"Well you're right but for your safety and the  safety of others , you might wanna have your blindfold on always and it's a good thing i always carry a spare"
Mr Friday advised as he took a blindfold from the pocket of his suit and handed it over to his daughter.

She immediately put it on.

"Now that's more like it " He smiled .

"So what brings you over father? Don't tell me you miss me so soon" she laughed turning her head towards her father.

She grabbed a towel from her locker. Her gym outfit was wreaking with sweat and she needed to shower soon enough but not until she was done hearing her father out.

"I came to inform you that we just got Intel on one of your mom's killers. He goes by the name Mr Paine. He's one of my many rivals. Apparently he owns a bar downtown. I need you to infiltrate the bar and eliminate him. Kill anyone who tries to stop you. But be careful Laura, that bar is heavily guarded and Mr Paine is not like any normal man."

"Alright father, consider it done. And oh just so you know I'm not like any normal woman" she assured her father.

He nodded.

"You can proceed with your training then" He suggested .

"Think I've had enough training for today, might as well head to the showers and be on my way out" she replied smiling.

Laura had many questions surrounding her mom's death. Most of the victims she took down over the years either claimed innocent or died before she could even get her answers.

She was hell bent on digging the truth about her mom's death. And since her father was uncommunicative when it came to that sensitive topic she might as well be on her own.
