I held my hand aloft, warding off the evil that was so quickly taking over. The darkness crept up my outstretched arm, penetrating my soul. But I stayed there, holding it down, unmoving as marble. I felt my power surge as the malicious energy consumed me, and my hand began to glow, its light casting sinister shadows over the cavern walls.

I knew what fate would befall me, and I knew that soon, the darkness would overtake me, but still, I resisted, extending my arm to pin down the writing darkness.

And there, within my thoughts, I saw the generations before me, the generations after me, all pouring everything into suppressing the malice of this world. And only then did letting myself drift into the unknown seem forgivable.

But I also realized that this fight was not over. Even though it was a mere sealing, the evil that cursed this land would return sometime in the near or distant future. But I had faith that whenever the time came, there would be strong warriors that would arise and defeat the evil of this land.
