Time passes since the celebration of Phoenix's victory over Moria. During that time, Phoenix and Desti have been together for a month now, and while Desti feels happy about it, Phoenix is contemplating over his new relationship with her.
Phoenix: Has it really been a month since that battle...? ... Time really went by quickly. I wonder how Desti is doing... This companionship together feels so new to me, but I want to try and make her happy, and try to find my happiness again... My happiness... I wonder, is there really anything left back home, or would it be a waste of time...? No, I can't think about that. I already decided to be here for her and for my friends now. Going back for my own benefits would be wrong... Of course, that guy...
He remembers how Whis is somehow responsible for restoring the world to how it was before the battle with Moria as if the battle never really happened
Phoenix: When he said that everything Moria destroyed was restored... Did he mean...? Argh, damnit. *Decides to fly to E. Gadd's lab*
Meanwhile
Desti: *tuning her splatershot as she prepares for next year's splatfest after she hears the rumors of it being the very last one* I won't lose to you again, Ms Superstar... *Shoots a dummy straight in the head* I gotta win this one if it's the last thing I do.
She then looks over to what day it is, seeing there's little over 4 months until it is time
Desti: Hopefully it's enough time. *Puts in the work with her training*
As she trains, she think about Phoenix and what he has been doing. Lately, besides being happy to be with him, she can't help but also feel somewhat the same way Phoenix is. She too has never been in a relationship before, and knows little of what to do with or for him as she's spent her whole life training
Desti: *Thoughts* Ugh, I feel like I've been living with his day to day activity but my own way. Man, this feels... *Shoots more dummies in the training ground* Weird. I wonder what he would like to do with me often... It's not like the guy doesn't want to do anything fun, but he's been coming off of what felt like a painful simulation... *Leaps up and hits more dummies* I thought about giving him some space to think about what he wants to do, but then again, I feel rather, slightly lonely without him, not to mention feel bad for not trying enough with this. *Shoots a few more dummies before resting* We've not even gone on a... Date yet... I don't even know where he wants to go... Where he wants to go... Mmm, I'll just go ask him... tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow.
She then receives a phone call from one of her mates
Desti: Hey, what's wrong?
Octoling: Hey, boss. Nothing wrong here, but I thought I'd call you about your boyfriend.
Desti: Huh? What about him?
Octoling: Well, funny enough, I saw him flying across the sky earlier today, going pretty fast towards what looks like that odd kingdom where his friends are.
Desti: Oh, what about it?
Octoling: Just wanted to let you know. He seemed pretty on edge from the looks of it.
Desti: Well, I'll go take a look then.
Octoling: Alright. *Hangs up*
Desti: *packs her pistol up then heads for the mushroom kingdom*
*Meanwhile*
Phoenix: *arrives at E. Gadd's lab*
E. Gadd's: *working on the time machine*
Phoenix: Hey.
E. Gadd: Hm? Oh, it's you.
Phoenix: Yeah, how's it going? I don't see any time machine around here...
