Chapter 10

2006 - Lou's POV

"Hello friend"

I hit enter before I can back out and back space. I don't know how long he has been online for but I do know he just accepted my friend request. I've been sitting here for the last hour wishing I could un add him as a friend. What if he didn't accept? How embarrassing! Thankfully for me though, he did. MSN has a wonderful feature where it will let you know if the other person is typing, so I can see that he hasn't responded yet. Flicking to MySpace, I double check if he added me there, which thankfully again – he had. His profile was completely private unless you were friends with him, so it gave absolutely nothing away. I was a little bit surprised at how disappointed that made me. I maybe kind of wanted to check him out a little. Maybe. Now that he had added me as a friend, I could go check out his profile though.

His profile is simple, Bullet For my Valentine is on the music player, he has a picture of a car as his display picture and his top friends are 7 males and 1 female. I’m not sure why that matters but it does. The one girl he has in his top friends is someone I am also friends with. I am going to need to make sure I am extra nice to her. Flicking back to MSN I can see he has responded.

A: Why hello there Ms San Awesome.

L: Hope you don't mind the random add. How are you?

A: Yeah I'm good thanks. How about yourself? Up to much tonight?

Realizing that I still had Owen's name in my user name I quickly deleted all evidence of him. I hadn't read any of his messages today and I planned on keeping it like that. We haven’t broken up, But I don’t want declare my love all over MSN for a guy who can’t keep it in his pants. Just because I won’t put out. Jerk. Ergh, Now I’m getting mad again! Regardless of all that, I didn't want Anthony to be put off our current pleasantries by love hearts and another guys name in my MSN user name. What. Where did that come from? Why would it matter? I don’t even know this guy.

Oh man. I’m so confused.

L: Not much, I was meant to be working but called in sick. Wasn't feeling the best so now I'm just chilling on the computer. How about you?

A: Was meant to have cricket training but this out of nowhere rain meant it was called off. By the way, you didn't answer my question.

Damn it. Most people, especially guys wouldn't have even noticed that. Trust him to the only person to realise I hadn’t answered the cliché “how are you”. Oh well, mission avoid 'how does that make you feel' shouldn't be too hard. I'll just distract him, he’s male I know that will be easy enough.

L: Yeah, this rain came out of nowhere. I am kind of glad I'm not working actually, the supermarket would be packed. When does your footy season start? Can't be too much longer left in the cricket season surely?

A: I dunno, the rain matches my mood, yours too no doubt. Cricket finals are in the next few weeks, footy training starts back next week. In line with yours as well yeah?

L: My mood? What do you mean? Yeah, us girls start training next week. I didn't realise we played for the same team. Small world.

A: Hmm, never mind. Wanna play a game?

L: Well I do mind, what do you mean my mood. What game?

A: 20 questions, I don't know much about you Miss San Awesome. I feel this is a travesty.

I noticed that he too ignored my question, I’ll let him slide this time but I do want to know what he means. 20 questions wouldn't be such a bad thing would it? It's not like truth or dare or spin the bottle. And it's not like he'd ask really bad questions... I hoped. Gulping in a big breath, I slowly typed back.
