The search started back up just as quickly as it had left. With what was likely half of the map explored and an unknown number of pieces left to find, it was hard not to be afraid. The cure team although working diligently to find a cure was no closer to figuring it out than they were to finding the last piece.
"Last time we were together we had ruled out Nagini's venom, as she was a non-venomous snake, nonpoisonous too. Is it possible that it is only a flesh wound?" Hermione looked to the others.
"It's possible, the wound is in proximity to the jugular vein, it seems to have been what she was aiming for. You would have been in too much shock to be able to heal yourself." Amelia suggested.
"Those with me did not possess the knowledge at the time to perform such advanced magic... but what if it's not? What if there is something we are missing? If we heal the wound and I'm still dying, what then?" Harry listened intently on the discussion which seemed to have come to a halt.
"Nagini has killed more people than most, all of whom died tragically. You mean to tell me that not one wizard was skilled enough to heal themselves? Not one witch was surrounded by others who might have tried to heal the physical wound and succeeded? No auror?" he pressed.
"You're right Severus. We are missing something here, something vital that sets her apart from the others." Hermione looked defeated.
"Do we all agree at least that it is an antidote potion we need?" A unanimous agreement could be heard amongst them.
"Why an antidote potion if you aren't sure what it is you need?" Harry questioned.
"We won't be sure it is an antidote we need until after we heal the physical wound. If doing this is successful, then we won't have needed one..." Amelia started to explain.
"Exactly, but if healing the wound doesn't heal the body and he continues to get worse, we know we will need an antidote. The trouble is, we don't know what antidote ingredient we need because any number of things could have killed him." Hermione added.
"How could it have been any number of things? It was her, we were there Hermione, we watched it happen." Harry seemed baffled.
"Her physically, yes, but if for whatever reason the physical healing doesn't work, we have to assume that she had taken some potion, some poison, toxin, something that we don't yet know about that has killed all of her victims. It could be any number of thousands of poisons." Severus squeezed Harry's hand tightly.
"Perhaps Miss Moon and I can take a trip to St. Mungo's, see if they have any answers regarding the other victims. The Auror's office has no answers, I have already spoken with them about this matter." Hermione looked to Amelia who seemed to agree.
"What about the death eaters? The ones still alive anyways. Could they know something about her that we don't?" Harry tried to help.
"It's possible that a trip to Azkaban could also yield some answers but I was at one time, Voldemort's prized pupil. If there was something else about her, I might have known. Bellatrix is dead and Wormtail..." Severus looked to Hermione.
"I will speak with who I can and return soon with what will hopefully be answers." The two of them disapparated, leaving Harry and Severus alone in the house.
Days of watching the unexplored parts of the map grow smaller passed by, with owl's from Hermione and Amelia coming through every day. They had been to both St. Mungo's and Azkaban and found no answers but were hoping to find more in medical records and autopsy reports from her victims. Since the records could not leave the grounds, they had been at the hospital confined to a room, reading through them all.
