"So, Severus." Draco began, not giving anything away in his tone.
"You and Harry? How may I ask did that come about?" He supposed for a moment that this is what he had been waiting for all night. Someone to poke and prod, ask about their relationship, and make him uncomfortable.
"I suppose It's safe to say that it just sort of happened?" He looked up at Harry for a supportive nod.
"He stumbled in drunk and broken, after a few days of talking over some issues and getting along, I realized he needed my help, and I needed his... so, it forced us to work together." Harry opened his mouth at that last bit before he was cut off promptly.
"Before I knew it I realized maybe I didn't hate him, and maybe he wasn't so bad, maybe he was even likeable, we could be friends, and then... more than friends." He continued.
"I suppose it must seem odd as we had been at each other's throats for some time years ago." Harry managed a chuckle at the memory of it.
"Let's face it, it's not all that surprising with how often you seemed to fall for the older type, Potter." this had Harry sputtering, and stifling a cough of his tea. He didn't notice the calculating way Draco was staring at him, or how he kept his hair over his badge.
"I don't know what you're on about Malfoy!" it seemed the childish rivalry still lived in some echoes of the present.
"Oh? I suppose Cho and Cedric wouldn't agree with me either." Draco continued to tease, leaving Harry's mouth to open and close like a fish. Snape managed to chuckle but immediately tried to hide it under his hands as he received a more than irritated glance from a red-eared Harry.
"Just because people I've been with happen to be older than me does not mean I'm into older people!" He snapped back, Severus pretended to be taken aback by this statement which in turn caused Harry's attempt to rephrase.
"Not that I'm, not, into older people sometimes, oh don't take it that way you know that I-" he stopped suddenly burrowing his face in his arms.
"Harry we're only joking." Snape laughed with Malfoy, but it was quickly put to rest as Harry's then quiet sobbing rose to hearing level.
"Why are you crying? Were only teasing." He grabbed Harry's hand more tightly. Draco looked worried, but not surprised.
"Busy day, not much sleep and all that..."
"Why don't I take you up to bed? I'll get you comfortable and make sure the kids get to sleep at a reasonable time." He offered. Harry smiled at the gesture and looked as though he was about to take up the other's offer when the conversation moved in another direction.
"If you don't mind, there are some things I think we need to discuss first." Draco started. He moved his hand finally from his vest to reveal a bright glowing jewel over his badge. It seemed to have no effect on the unsuspecting two sitting across from him.
"How pretty." Harry remarked in clear confusion, too embarrassed to admit how grounded the strange trinket was making him feel.
"Do you know what this is Harry?" He popped the stone from his badge and handed it to him. Harry marveled at it for a few moments, admiring the blue and purple hues before shaking his head.
"Well put simply... It's a jewel." He hesitated to look up at Snape who he knew would catch his hints with his potions expertise.
"A jewel that's been treated with the gravidam potion." He looked up at his godfather then who took no longer than a second to put two and two together. The potions master's skin went pale... or, paler rather, if that was even possible and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He attempted to collect himself as Harry looked up at him for an explanation.
