Harry set about soaping up and rinsing, putting that pleasantly scented oil on his belly that Molly gifted him but showed no sign of stopping the branching marks. He sighed out of his nose and kept on with his cleaning, a sharp sadness mixed with self-consciousness hitting him and making his eyes well. He felt so selfish crying over something so silly. He'd never cared much for his appearance as long as he his scarring from his kids before, but these were marks showing an accomplishment! He was holding a baby, something few men could say they had done in this sense and should be vastly proud of them! There'd been no kicks, no bumps, granted, he was a bit of an enigma with this pregnancy, but he couldn't help fear and anxiety from crawling their way in. Was something wrong with him? or worse, was there something wrong with their baby? Such were his thoughts as he toweled off-back to the mirror-and dressed.
"Hey Severus?" he called in feigned normalcy.
"What time is it? and have you seen my comb? Last I saw it Lily was using it to part one of her dolls hair..."
"It's eleven thirty." He said from the open doorway comb in hand.
"Thanks." Harry held out his hand but was turned around. Severus pulled the towel playfully through the mop of hair before starting to comb it at the back. He watched in the mirror as Harry's eyes closed and he smiled.
"I brought you some tea." He handed Harry a fresh cup of tea, the last of what they had until Kreacher came with more.
"-and I sent Kreacher to fetch some things. I'm sure Molly will be here early, you should change." He kissed the freshly brushed hair.
"Mm." Harry smiled.
"Don't go falling asleep on me now. I know you have an excuse, but you won't want to miss this." He shuffled Harry into their old room where all of their clothes still were.
Harry reached over and grabbed some comfortable and loose laced house pants, pulling them over his now rather snug briefs. He focused on dressing and not on just how much snugger his clothes were. After the flowing style pants, he slid on a loose shirt, one of Severus' he not so guiltily swiped one evening and never put back in the proper drawer.
"I'm not even that tired!" he answered, his jaw-popping yawn belying his words to his phantasmic lover.
He slipped his slipper socks on and then his slide on shoes. He still wore trainers and lace ups most days- never admitting how he actually liked the slight pampered feeling that came with his lover tying them for him due to his enlarged torso, but as they were short on time he went for the faster route. The stretchy cotton pants were like very old-style yoga pants, squeezing his back side and thighs with support, flaring out to hang loose and flow from his knees to just above his ankles. With the loose black trousers, he wore one of Severus's white dress shirts, the top few of the shiny black buttons undone due to him disliking the sensation. it dipped the hem untucked to his midthigh in the back, raised by his belly in the front. His slip-on shoes and socks both were a near velvety texture and were a smoky black, opposed to the inky black of the rest of his garment. He happily sipped his tea as he fought himself not to look in the mirror and find every detail wrong with his appearance as he is wont to do these days.
Draco, in some of their private sessions said many went through similar moments during pregnancy, and to not stress too much about it, especially with how in tune he and Severus's were to one another. Even still, he advised Harry to talk to Severus about it, and he would! - Just not yet. For now, he'd sweep it under the rug, there were far more important things to concern himself with at the moment. As long as he did not acknowledge it, his emotions stayed mostly level and did not overtly alert his disquiet to the former wizard.
Molly arrived not moments later, letting herself in the front door and carrying behind her several large boxes which contained most of what they had ordered for the baby's room. All a darker wood as they both enjoyed the crisp, dark colors. The largest box contained the crib, followed closely by a large dresser, a changing table, and a few other more decorative things. The room itself had yet to be made up but they would be renovating to add a new staircase and freshly painted walls. They also planned to paint the ceiling, and have it enchanted... that was Lily's idea.
