Stella's POV
I had convinced Ava to come help me in the kitchen once the decorations were done and the Instacart order had arrived. All the boys were doing who knows what, I think most of them were playing video games because we could hear a lot of yelling from the living room. All I knew was I didn't want to be in there, so I focused on my baking. Ava was still in chaos mode, however, loudly playing Louis' music and dancing around, dipping her finger in my batter, eating raw cookie dough... I had asked her to cut up some fruit for my fruit salad and she chased me around the kitchen with the knife for a good 5 minutes before I finally had the sense to take my Spidey gloves out of my pocket and shoot a web at her, securing her hand to a wall.
"No more knives." I warned her, taking the knife from her hand.
"You're no fun, Stell-Stell." She pouted.
"You're chasing me around with a knife!" I pointed out.
"It's not like I'm actually going to cut you." She argued. I used the knife she chased me with to cut her off the wall and then took it away from her.
"I'll cut the fruit, can you take the cookies out of the oven?" I asked.
"What will youuuu do for me?" She asked.
"Love you forever?" I hoped.
"You were already going to do that, but fine." She decided, going to get the oven mitts.
"Have you been drinking?" I wondered.
"Of course not. Not until the party starts. I told you, I just really love Fourth of July."
"I thought you said Fourth of July was for people who love America."
"I love America." Ava shrugged, pulling the cookies out of the oven.
"Give me one thing you love about America." I challenged.
"That Louis is in America. Boom. Checkmate."
"So when he leaves America you'll hate America again?" I asked.
"Obviously." She shrugged. I thought for a second as I cut the fruit, trying to come up with a comeback, when suddenly I heard an "ow!"
"What'd you do?" I wondered, putting my knife down.
"It's hot." She said. On the tray sat one cookie that looked incredibly mangled and she was shaking out her hand like she was trying to cool it off.
"Ava! Did you try and take a cookie off the tray with your bare hands?"
"It looked good, I wanted it!"
"But you know cookies that just come out of the oven are super hot."
"I blew on it." She said. I took her shoulders and shook her a little.
"Where! Is! Your! Brain!" I laughed.
"I decided I wanted to have extra fun today so I didn't take my medicine." She admitted. I laughed again.
"Avaaaa."
"Are you saying you don't like me in my natural state?" She wondered.
"I love you always, psycho." I smiled, pushing her head a little before getting back to my fruit cutting. "Is that why you're being so mean to me and Peter?" I wondered.
"No, that's just because you two are the" she started pinching my side to get me to laugh, and I squealed a little. "Biggest geeks of all time." She finished. She walked away from me then and went back to the counter where she had put the cookies and started to take them off the tray with a spatula.
