The Wolfwalker Guardian PART I

Chapter 2: Years later

Narrator's POV
112 years has passed since the horrible events of the forest. RoseMary has just turned 26 years old and has become a strong, beautiful and very attractive woman, not counting that she was tall. Rose learned how to control her powers, scaring people out of the forest, healing hurt animals and even not being a wolf, to be run faster. She has seen creatures being born and died, but that's just the circle of life. But Rose felt like something was missing, but she couldn't understand what was it.

RoseMary's POV
I was inside the cave just hearing my father (Lorax) talking about how I should scared the next humans that come near the forest.

"So what you can try dear, is maybe trying to chase them off until they are far away. Remember last time that they tried to capture you" he said.

"I know Father, things have changed and now they have more advanced weapons. But trust me, remember people think wolves will immediately eat them, just by howling at the moon and approaching them while grunting is good enough. And for you to know, that accident happened when I was 15, still learning how to be a wolf" I smirked at him chuckling as he crossed his arms and looked away.

" *sigh* You have grown and learned how to be a great guardian, how can a father not be so proud of his daughter?" he said sniffing and wiping one tear off his eye.

"Aww Father *hugs him* I don't like seeing you crying. But..... I was wondering..... what would you do or react...when I find someone and fall in love?" I said.

Father started to stop smiling and stayed blanked for a minute, until he started talking,

"Rose, how would you find someone else that would even care about this forest? Every men that comes here comes for one reason. In fact, you have me and the Barb-a-loots!" he said hoping to change my mind.

"I know and I appreciate that, but I don't know, I would like to not be the only one, have some...human accompaniment" I said and get up walking in circles dreamily,

"I imagine a human tall as me, beautiful eyes, so kind and funny, but most importantly, that cares about this forest" I said sighing in love.

Father just stood there speechless as he looked at the fishes saying "awwww" and looked at me and laughed nervous.

"Oh Rose, Your time will come, I know you will find.....a guy like that. Anyway, I have to go, remember, if a human comes, try scared him off but whatever you do-" he said but I interrupted him.

"Not biting him or he will become a Wolfwalker too, I know, I know. Don't worry, I'm not a little girl anymore, I can take care of myself" I said.

"Fine, fine, you are right. Bye sweetheart" he kissed my cheek as I got down of his height and then he flew to the sky.

If you ask me he might be jealous, that one day I will find someone that loves me a lot, but I guess that is what fathers do to their daughters.

When I was about to go inside the cave, I heard from far away some steps, like a big animal. It sounded like gallops of a donkey I think, but then heard music and someone.....singing I think? I looked back at the fishes that were beside me and kneeled down looking at them.

"Can you guys see what is causing that noise? If it's a human that is chopping the truffula trees, come back here and tell me so I can stop him in time" I said and the fishes nodded happily as they get into the lake to swim to where the noise was coming from.

After minutes waiting I heard swans flying away scared, I rushed outside the cave and saw the fishes coming back alarming.

"Oh no, someone is cutting a tree! I have to stop him before the tree-" I stopped when I heard the tree falling to the ground.

I couldn't believe it, a tree? Chopped down? My blood was boiling as how angry I was. I grunted and howl to catch the creatures' attention, and I believed they got scared as they know I howl as a human when I am very mad. I run very fast to where the tree was chopped down, but I stopped when I saw Father already, scolding the person that did it. I hid in some shrubs near to see what was happening. I heard the human....he sounded like he was of my age, and sorry but I have to be honest, he had an attractive voice.

"Leave! Vacate the premises, take your axe and get out!" my father yelled towards the mysterious guy, that actuallyI couldn't see clearly, I could only see his shadow.

"Aaaand who are you?" the man said and could see him poking my father on its side, causing him to flinch.

"What-what? I'm the Lorax!, guardian of the forest. I speak for the trees" he said in shocked voice as the man didn't answer and got up. Now what I could see were his feet. Bloody hell! He must be tall!

Then I saw the man giving dad a small white cube. I smell it with my great wolf sense of smell and I could say, it smelled delicious! My father took anyway even if he was annoyed and eat as he got down of the chopped tree.

"Anyway, I'm telling you kid! Leave or you will face it with the other guardian of this forest!" Father said, talking about me, I knew that was my cue.

"Really? *chuckles* Is that guardian you say is just like you? With your height and hairy?" the man said laughing, oh? So he thinks I'm not powerful huh?

Father looked at him and shakes his head as a no. At that, I jumped out of the shrubs and made the man fall and scream, making me be on top of him grunting at him angry.

"No! No! Don't hurt me!" He said with his eyes shot as how scared he was. I just looked at him mad......but I started noticing how tall he was, his soft black hair..... Then the man opened his eyes revealing his blue eyes. Wow....he looked very handsome. When he stared at me he was in shock.

"You-You are....a woman.." he said shocked but couldn't stop looking at me and he started having pink cheeks.

"I heard you, how dare you to say that I wouldn't be strong?!" I said angrily.

"Wait.....You are the other guardian?! he asked in shock...again.

"Yes, and you cut this tree!! How could you?!" I yelled at him and grunt at him.

"*nervous laugh* I think we started bad *ahem* Hello~ I'm The Onceler" he said smirking and winked at me, trying to catch my attention on him.

Father looked at him and drop his mouth and got very mad.

"Hey Hey Hey! What do you think you are doing?! That's my daughter you beanpole!" he yelled.

"Wait.....your daughter?!?!" Onceler yelled in shock.
