Beatrice threw herself into training with the other Sisters of the Order, especially the new ones. She wanted everyone to be in top form so they could fight whatever came after Ava. She couldn't even think about losing her again, and that made Bea focus all her strength on training. Sometimes she exaggerated and at the end of the day she was exhausted, and then fell asleep immediately as soon as she lay in her bed, always in Ava's arms.
Ava liked having Beatrice this close, lying next to her, watching over each other's sleep. Every night, they would each go into their rooms and lock the doors, but since they shared a wall, it was easy for Ava to walk through and lie down with Beatrice. They preferred to do it that way to avoid more flagrantes or questions. Not that it bothered them to say they were together, but they wanted to avoid taking the focus off of the sisters. And that was better. Their relationship was just between the two of them.
Ava practiced with the other girls sometimes, just to stay agile, but most of the time she just watched. Beatrice. Bea with her light, graceful movements and yet fast, lethal, precise. Ava could never be tired of admiring the beauty of the movements of Bea's beautiful body... and several times she felt a heat that rose on the back of her neck when watching her beloved. And Bea had already noticed several mesmerized looks from Ava in her direction. The feeling was indescribable... and Bea smiled shyly.
In many moments like these both forgot what they would have to face. The attraction between them was strong enough to make them smile from afar at each other, feel an enormous need to touch each other and still feel butterflies in their stomachs in a light touch of hands... and it was never enough. No touch was enough, no closeness, no time together... they always wanted more and more.
And it was because she was experiencing the delights of a love that blossomed little by little that Ava felt herself falling into an abyss when she remembered all the situation she was going through and that she would have to face soon... and in which she had placed Bea and the entire Order .
One day, Ava was leaning against one of the railings that surrounded the yard where Beatrice trained, looking down distractedly and with a worried air, when Lilith approached her.
"Ava, are you okay? Your thoughts are so far away..."
"No, Lilith... I'm not okay. I'm standing here watching you all committed on protecting me and I'm terrified that I've put you all at risk. I shouldn't have brought this problem here. And every day that passes without them showing up gets closer to the day they will come. I'm really scared about it."
"You know you couldn't go through this alone, of course you had to come here."
"I don't know what to do, Lilith... I have no idea of a way to end this that isn't..." Ava trailed off and swallowed hard. Lilith understood and placed her hand on Ava's shoulder.
"You don't have to carry this alone, Ava. Let's talk to Mother Superion, she has a lot of knowledge about the Order, the Halo, the other side... she can help us think of another alternative. And Yasmine might also have information that could guide us, her order was created to help us, wasn't it? And Bea-"
"No. Not Bea." Ava interrupted Lilith.
"Why not? She knows so many things, she's so smart and committed, especially when it comes to protecting you. I'm sure she would be of great help."
"Bea has suffered enough, Lilith... I don't want her to suffer again. If we find another way, she doesn't have to go through any suffering again. Let's speak the whole truth to Mother Superion and Yasmine, no one else. Only the four of us will know about this and we will try to find a solution. Just don't let Beatrice know... neither Camila, because she'll tell Bea if she finds out, you know her."
