Beatrice was still in pain when she woke up that morning. Despite what had happened the night before, she managed to sleep, largely because of having Ava cuddled with her during the night. Upon awakening, however, she no longer felt Ava's arm around her waist, neither her warmth close to her body. She turned around looking for Ava, but she wasn't in the room.
"Ava? " She called involuntarily, expecting her to answer, even though she couldn't see Ava in the room.
Beatrice stopped for a moment and tried to listen, to see if there was anything different that morning. There was not. Just the normal silence of a morning in a convent, to the detriment of the destruction of the night that passed.
She got up slowly, feeling the pain from the blows she had received, and she sat down on the bed. Where would Ava be? Why had she gotten out of bed so early, and without waking her? She got out of bed and went to the door with the intention of looking for Ava and almost got a door in her face when Camila burst into the room in a burst that scared Beatrice.
"Bea, get dressed and come with me. We need to leave NOW!"
"What? Why? What is happening?"
"It's Ava. Get dressed and come, I'll tell you on the way. But hurry because we need to leave immediately!"
Beatrice's heart instantly froze. She changed very quickly, as she had never done before, and followed Camila down the hall.
"Camila, what's going on?"
"You asked me to keep an eye on Ava and Lilith, and I did. I put bugs in several places and managed to capture their conversations from the night right after the attack we suffered and this morning. Ava is going to do something stupid, Bea... we have to stop it!"
"What is she going to do? What did you hear?" Beatrice had a terrifying fear in her voice.
Camila handed the tablet she was carrying in her hands to Beatrice, as they walked quickly to the car.
"Listen for yourself. But don't stop walking!"
The two walked so quickly that they almost ran over Yasmine, who also seemed to be looking anxiously for Ava.
"Wow, where are you guys going in such a hurry at this time of the morning? And where is Ava? I urgently need to talk to her, it's very important."
Camila didn't even hear what Yasmine was saying. She just grabbed her hand and pulled her into the van.
"What is that? Where are we going?"
"You're looking for Ava, so are we. And it has to be fast, we can't waste time!" Camila got behind the wheel and quickly got out.
"What is happening? What's this rush? And why is Beatrice so pale?"
Beatrice was white as a candle. Of fear. Dread. Panic and anguish. She could barely breathe as she listened to the conversation between Ava and Lilith on Camila's recordings, she couldn't answer Yasmine's questions. It was Camila who clarified:
"Ava thinks she needs to end all this torment, she's feeling so guilty about what happened to Bea yesterday... and what she's going to do will end everything, including her life."
"I know... she told me and Mother Superion. She wanted us to help find another solution."
Camila glanced quickly at Yasmine, but her gaze was questioning enough for Yasmine to continue.
"That's why I was looking for her, we found something that might be the solution. She doesn't need to end her own life. And don't look at me like that... Ava has repeatedly asked us to not speak to anyone else. She didn't want Beatrice to know, so she wouldn't be like this, like she is right now."
