Alyna didn't know what was true or not. She held onto the parchment tight, her eyes skimming the parchment as she read every word from the Stormlands maester. 'Lucerys Velaryon is dead, alongside his dragon.'

No! He couldn't be, he was a mere child. She trembled in fear, as she skimmed every word. He was dead. Her own brother, her own blood and flesh, was dead.

She held onto the parchment, and tightly grasped it. Tears threatened to exit her eyes, but she dared not let it go. "Aemond," She harshly spoke, as she saw his figure in their chambers. "Care to explain?"

The door opened and he entered, his head hung low. His heart was heavy in his chest, and he couldn't bring himself to meet her eyes upon entering. He knew why she was angry. And, most likely, she knew him well enough to read his face and see exactly what had happened.

"A death for a death," he said softly, as a tear fell down his cheek. "Lucerys Velaryon is dead. And above Shipbreaker Bay." He paused, and took a heavy sigh. "It is done."

"Lucerys was my brother!" She seethed, as she looked at him. "He was a mere boy, Aemond. Sent as an envoy, but you killed him! You're now a kinslayer, by the Gods' eyes. You.." She panted, as the tears flowed in so well.

Tears cascaded from her eyes like shimmering amethyst rivulets, each droplet a testament to the poignant symphony playing within her soul.

"I know," he said, the guilt in his voice evident. "But I had no choice. My mother was adamant.. And I do not disobey her. He did not deserve death, but we do not live in a world of what is deserved and what is not. We are royals, Alyna, and when it comes to matters of family and of war... Well-" The dragonrider trailed off. "...he met his fate."
