JJ hadn't been going to all of the baby checkup appointments not because he didn't want to but because Kie said he didn't need to come to everyone. But today, was a special appointment.
They were going to be finding out the gender of their baby and JJ was terrified but also thrilled. Ever since her felt the baby move he had been getting more and more happy and felt more welcoming to the whole baby thing.

"What do you think It's going to be?" JJ said as he got out of Kiara's car. The girl put her purse on her shoulder the two walked into the doctor's office where Kie quickly signed in before turning around to answer him "I don't mind what we have as long as they are healthy."

"Oh bullshit you have to want one or the other don't give me that bull answer" JJ chuckled.

"It's true, I honestly don't mind what we have I'd be happy with either" she shrugged.

"Well, I hope we have a girl."

"A girl?" She smiled "You want a girl?"

"Yeah" he nodded "Ever since you told me and I warmed up to the whole baby thing I have kinda been hoping that It would be a little girl so I can teach her to surf and fish." Before Kie could say anything she was being called in by a nurse. The two made their way back to the ultrasound room where Kie was instructed to just lay down and relax until the doctor came in.

JJ took a seat next to the exam table and nervously tapped his hands against his thighs. God was it normal to be this nervous?

"Good afternoon," the doctor said coming into the room with a file that JJ assumed was Kiaras "Who's ready to take a look at this little one?" He smiled and grabbed the sensor and started up the ultrasound machine.
Kie lifted her shirt so her baby bump was now visible. The woman was almost twenty-four weeks and her stomach was already big.

When the doctor ran the sensor over her stomach they heard some swishing sounds before a loud heartbeat was playing. The baby popped up on the ultrasound screen JJ could see it moving around and kicking "Active little one today" he said and began taking measurements of the baby's head and body "The baby is measuring above normal."

"Now did you two want to find out the gender?" The doctor looked at them. The two immediately nodded at him.

After a few moments of looking at the baby on the ultrasound, the doctor finally told them.

"You're having a baby girl" he smiled.

JJ walked into the chateau where he saw John B and Pope in the kitchen "It's a girl" he said and both of his friends let out a few cheers before walking over and hugging him "Congrats bro" John B said patting his back before pulling away.

"Thanks," JJ said and went to the fridge to grab a beer to celebrate.

He was about to open it when he felt his new phone ring in his pocket. He got it just in case kie needed something so that is who he was expecting to be calling but it wasn't it. Instead, it was a random number he hadn't seen before "Hello?" He answered and finished opening his beer "Is this Jesse James Maybank" he heard a woman's voice.

"Yeah, why?"

"You filled out an application for an apartment I was calling to tell you that you have been selected to fill the vacancy so if you are still interested come down to the office to fill out the paperwork and pay the first month's rent and a security deposit which would all total around 1,500 dollars" the woman explained.

"Oh hell yeah I still want it, I'll be down there soon."

"Great see you soon," the woman said and hung up.

"Who was that?" Pope asked.

"This lady she told me I got the apartment I applied for."

"That's great man."

"I have a daughter and an apartment... Life is a trip man" JJ said bringing his beer and taking a sip of it "but I'm happy."

JJ felt his phone ring again and this time it really was Kie "Hey Kie I was actually about to call you-"

"It's not Kie this is Sarah her friend, we are at the hospital you need to get down here," she said and JJ felt his entire body tense up at those words. Was something wrong with Kie? Or the baby. He had about a million thoughts on his mind "Dude" John B snapped his fingers in front of his face to knock him out of his trance "What's wrong?"

"I need to go," he said and grabbed the keys to the Twinkie and ran out of the house, ignoring John B yelling for him.
