Chapter Three Nadia
When we walked inside Vannessa was on the couch watching something on the T-V. There was a small patch of tile by the door then it was a carpet living room. The walls were gray, much like the outside of the house. A little girl with short black hair came running up to Donny. She had a bright pink shirt under blue overalls and two ankle socks with crazy designs.
"Donny!" She yelled as she ran and jumped into his arms. Donny picked her up and threw her in the air.
"Hey Bell! Look who's here!" He sat her down and she looked at me. The smile on her face from seeing Donny has only gotten bigger.
"Aunt Nadia!" She wrapped her arms around my legs and squeezed. I looked at Donny and he laughed at my surprisment. She let go of my legs and grabbed my bags. She let go of my legs and ran down a hall. "Come with me I'll show you your room."
As I followed Bella down the hall I saw photos that were hanging on the walls. Each photo was hung in a black wooden frame. Bella stopped in front of a door and dropped my bags down. There was some of Donny and Elijah, Vannessa and Bella then one of me and some guy I just couldn't seem to remember? I opened the door and it revealed a gray carpet and white walls with a bed in one corner of the room, and a desk in the other and my favorite part, maps. There was a large map of the whole world covering the entire wall and a full body mirror next to a dresser. "Wow, did you guys do this?" I asked as I sat the bag of clothing on the floor.
"Yep, it was mainly Donny and Gage though." She said setting the bag of cards next to a lamp.
"Gage?" That's who Eli had mentioned before.
"Yeah Gage, he's mom's friend. He's been living here for a bit but he only comes out for dinner." She said as she jumped onto the bed. "I'm so happy you're awake we can do so much stuff together now! We can go to the park, or swimming, or shopping! We can stay up late and paint our nails!" She continued talking as I walked over to the mirror. My body really changed. My hair was much longer now, and had gone back to the natural blonde it was before. "We can braid each other's hair and watch movies!''
A small knock came from the door, "Well as all of those are great plans Bell, maybe let's not overwhelm her." Vanessa stood leaning on the door frame. Bella jumped off of the bed and ran over to her mom. I wouldn't admit it, but all of those plans had been overwhelming. Bella seemed to have her own idea of who I was already, and I have a feeling that it's who I really am. was, are? All I do know is that I don't know. Which isn't something too positive to know. "Bell, why don't you go help Donny and Elijah in the kitchen?" Bella agreed and ran off.
I went back to looking at myself in the mirror. My body had definitely matured. I looked like mom when she was younger. "I know it's a big adjustment, but me and Donny are fully prepared to help you with it all."
I turned and looked at the back of my legs, has that scar always been there? "Thank you Vanessa" That dizzy feeling came rushing back to me.
"How are you feeling Nat?"
"I'm alright, I think" My body was so different from when I was little.
"If you need anything let us know, the doctors said that you could feel dizzy and that you just need to rest for a while and do nothing too demanding," She paused and glanced over to the bag of letters, "I'll be in the kitchen if you need me." She said before walking out of the room and shutting the door behind her. I looked around the room again, everything was so neat. The complete opposite of how my childhood room was. I opened the white wooden dresser to find all sorts of clothing. I ended up putting on a pair of gray cotton sweatpants and a blue t-shirt. I don't know how they knew my size, I didn't even know myself, I got up and walked down the hall.
