Remote Village in Re-Estize
A warrior about middle aged, clad in dented and dirty armour with tanned skin and short messy hair stood before a collapsed house that was nothing but ashes and rubble. Clenching his fist he looked around and saw every house within the village looked to be about the same.

Another warrior approached the battle hardened man as he barked orders out to his soldiers.

Vice Captain: Make sure to take the survivors back to E-Rantel safely!

As he got closer to the warrior he spoke.

Vice Captain: Captain?

The warrior turned towards his second-in-command.

Warrior Captain: What is it, Vice Captain?

The Vice Captain looked around before speaking.

Vice Captain: Somethings wrong. The king ordered us to track down and terminate the bandits that have been attacking villages, right?

Warrior Captain: That's correct

The Vice Captain sighed, already knowing why they were sent out here. Although he'd still ask anyways.

Vice Captain: Okay, then why did they send us out here with only fifty soldiers? Especially if it's true that it might be the Baharuth Empire

The Warrior Captain sighed, already knowing what the Vice Captain was getting at.

Warriors Captain: It's a Top-Secret Operation, why else

The Vice Captain clenched his fists in frustration at his leader. They both knew the real purpose for sending them out here, more specifically for sending the Warrior Captain.

Vice Captain: We both know it's the Noble Faction. They want you to fail. If they can get rid of the King's most trusted Warrior, then they would have a clear straight path to the throne. We both know that, Gazef Stronoff. They couldn't be anymore transparent!

Gazef: Enough Vice Captain!

The vice Captain pleaded with his Captain and friend.

Vice Captain: But sir, you know I'm telling the truth. We're walking straight into a trap

The Vice Captain looked back at their tired forces. They bolted all the way here from the Capital. They needed rest.

Vice Captain: Our forces should head back to E-Rantel as fast as possible. If we split up now, it'll only weaken us. Our men are already exhausted

The Warrior Captain looked back at his forces before looking at all the houses that were destroyed and the remains of many villagers. He looked to be debating and so the Vice Captain pushed a little further.

Vice Captain: A few villages may be lost. However that is a small price to pay in order to keep the most powerful swordsman in the country alive

That hit Gazef hard and drew a gasp from his lips.

Gazef: I was born a commoner, so were you. How could you say that knowing what it's like to live in these villages

Gazef looked down as he remembered the many times in his childhood where the village he lived in faced a close call, not once, not twice, but many times.

Gazef: How can you say that knowing the fear of monsters at every turn. Knowing full well that each day could be our last

The Vice Captain had a look of guilt, but he stood firm.

Vice Captain: I know exactly what you mean... but the kingdom as a whole is far more important than some small villages. As painful as it is to say wouldn't it be better to live another day than die for some villages that are going to be destroyed anyways
