Season One: Chapter Nine - The Great Hunt

A/N: Hey everyone! I know I usually do this sort of thing at the end of the chapter but for this one I'm doing it now. First off this is a long ass chapter coming in at over 10,000 words. It's actually the longest chapter I've ever written for any story, so I do hope you like it.

Now I just have a couple more things to say and then you can begin your read.

This chapter won't be going into the fight between Lupusregina, Naberal and Khajit. Seeing as the two maids are guaranteed to win. I didn't think you guys cared if I added that fight in or not. If you guys really want it though I don't mind doing a little recap of what happened in the next chapter but I doubt that's really necessary.

Secondly, from here on out things will slowly begin to change story wise. I still plan to continue to follow the Overlord's main plot, but how it plays out and the events between the main plot will slowly change. I had always planned it this way and the first few chapters that followed the anime very closely was always what I had intended before slowly drifting away from the canonical plot.

Thirdly, Fenrir is brought up in this chapter and as someone who loves mythology I love to learn about deities of different religions and legends. And so because of that for any of you out there who are also interested in it and are knowledgeable in regards to Norse Mythology, I want to clarify right now that I'm well aware Fenrir isn't the patron of the things I say he is in this chapter. However for this story he'll be interpreted as such.

Forth, I have changed Blaiddyd's main armour and sword. I never really liked how I described his equipment. So I've changed the appearance of both. His armour is now incredibly similar to Guts's armour from Berserker, with a few personal additions. His sword on the other hand looks identical to the Beastlord from Nier Automata, but instead of a lion head at the top of the blade it's a wolf's. So yeah, feel free to check the first chapter again if you want a description of what his equipment looks like although a quick google search of Guts's armour and the Beastlord also does the trick. Blaiddyd doesn't wear it in this chapter but he will start wearing it going forward.

Lastly, the moment this chapter was published I immediately started working on the next chapter. Now seeing as the next chapter if we are going by the anime episodes would be almost entirely on Shalltear, that would be what the next chapter would follow suit with. I don't plan to do that for the next one since there would really be no point in doing so. Therefore next chapter will be going into Blaiddyd's past and will be containing a TON of world building in regard to the world he came from.

Thinking back on his life, Lukrut always felt that he was unlucky. Of course this wasn't some poor victims excuse to blame the world for his problems. He truly felt he had good reason to believe he was cursed with bad luck.

He was born and raised with a silver spoon, living the life of a noble. As such he had an extraordinary amount of opportunity growing up. That all ended though when the newly appointed Emperor Jircniv Rune Farlord El Nix began his purge of nobility, and for Lukrut his life would forever change as his family was one of the first noble families to be given the honour of breaking in the new guillotines.

To Lukrut that was the sign he had been gifted with horrible luck. Why would the universe bless him with a noble family that held such amazing opportunities, only to take it all away from him, leaving him to fend for himself on the streets at the age of nine.
