A month had passed since discussions surrounding Luca's christening had been had. A whole month where Amber could relish in bone breaking anxiety over the day she had been dreading.
She knew she had obligations as Luca's godmother to attend and she couldn't back out of this now.
Every night until this point she had dreamed about the man who would also be stood at the front of the pack today. She thought she'd be more excited to see him after spending so long apart, but she didn't want to face the music.
She didn't want him to hate her for how she had acted.
But she didn't want Daniel to conceal his feelings to protect her.
Which she knew he would do just to ensure she was happy. It's something he always did.
"What time are you getting here?" Francesca asked as she bounced Luca on her hip, scanning the church as she watched friends and family arrive.
"I'm five minutes down the road." Amber confirmed as she indicated the car to make a left turning. "Connie is currently annoying the shit out of me with her singing."
"Hey!" Connie whined. "You know you love my voice."
"Enjoy Connie's angelic tones." Francesca teased before they exchanged their goodbyes and ended the telephone call.
Surprisingly, Francesca had decided to bury the hatchet between the two of them, fairing that her relationship with her friend was more important than fighting over a man.
A man in which Francesca had now grown extremely close to.
"Hey munchkin." Michael cooed as he approached Francesca and Luca, signalling to hold his two month old son. "Why does he have to wear this again?"
Francesca rolled her eyes as she carefully handed her son over to his father whilst stroking his soft, chubby, cheek.
"It's what all babies have to wear for their christening." Francesca explained as she looked at Michael's blank expression. "Just get over it."
Michael chuckled as he bounced Luca, making him smile and giggle. Francesca smiled before announcing that she was going to briefly speak with her mom about the catering for the small gathering they were having at a nearby venue.
"Dude, why is your son wearing a dress?" Scotty asked as both him, Daniel, Chloe and Blake approached the new dad at the front of the church.
"Don't." Michael closed his eyes for a moment and sharply exhaled. "I've asked Fran this over and over again and I still don't understand."
"Well, I think he looks gorgeous!" Chloe gushed as she made funny faces and smiled up at Luca, ensuring his smile was twice as big.
"Would you like it if I wore those robes?" Scotty teased as he winked at his girlfriend, only for her to slap him round the back of the head with a firm warning.
"No inappropriate talk at Luca's christening!" She said in an annoyed voice whilst the others chuckled alongside her.
"You implied that my statement was inappropriate!" Scotty whined as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I meant nothing sexual."
